Spring DIY Inspiration

Ready for spring? YESSIREE! Bring it on! I recently did a sponsored ‘party’ for Michaels, a Papercrafting Party Décor Mini Challenge using the expanded assortment of Recollections™ Craft It™ party décor items. Make up chocolate ‘shot glasses‘ (SO many great ideas for these!) by melting chocolate, adding essential oils and pouring into silicone molds. Fill with chocolate mousse. I’ve tried two versions…a more complex recipe using heavy cream, etc. and an easy pudding/whipped topping recipe. The first was a little too rich (but so good) but I prefer the second ‘light’ version.

Essential oil infused white chocolate bunnies (just add 4-5 drops of essential oil (I used orange Vitality essential oil) to melted white chocolate. I only recommend Young Living essential oils.

Glass milk bottles are perfect for serving essential oil infused water (and a must for citrus essential oils).

Halloween (essential oils) Make & Take Ideas and Graphics

Hosting a fun Halloween themed make & take essential oils class? Me too! I’ve whipped up a few graphics/printables for the occasion. You’re welcome to use them for your event too!

Monster Repellent Printable Recipe Cards – Right click and save to computer, upload into word document, resize to fit 2, 3 or 4 to a page, print on white card stock and distribute to guests with supplies.

Monster Repellent Labels – Right click and save to computer, upload and resize to fit mailing labels or the appropriate size for your spray bottle (I use these 2 oz. glass spray bottles) on regular paper in a word document, print, cut out and attach to spray bottles. Protect labels with packing tape.

You’ll have to research the recipe for this next one on your own, but here’s a graphic if it’s something you want to make for your own personal use. Right click, save to computer, upload into a word document to resize for printing. Cut out, secure to spray bottle with packaging tape.

Diffuse: Light the Fire essential oil

Refreshments: Add essential oils and products labeled for dietary use to your Halloween recipes, apple cider, witch’s brew, etc.

What I love about Young Living: The thing about buying cheap essential oils is 1. They’re usually labeled “fragrance grade only” and 2. You don’t have the support team to help educate and empower you to take charge of your own wellness. 3. There’s no reward system. 4. There’s no opportunity to build a business. Did I ever seek out to ‘sell’ essential oils? NO WAY! But once I learned more, once I experienced the benefits…I can’t help but not share.

Fall Party Snack Ideas

A recent fall make & take essential oils class prompted a little creativity with essential oil infused recipes.

Pumpkin Spice Muffins – I love the ease of making Weight Watchers muffins (and the consistency of the batter).

Ingredients:

15 oz. can of pumpkin
cake mix (spice, carrot or vanilla)
clove essential oil, nutmeg essential oil, ginger essential oil
(or Thieves essential oil)

Directions: Simply add a 15 oz. can of pumpkin to a cake mix (I chose French vanilla this time) and mix. Adding water is optional. I did add about 3/4 c. Mix in 2-4 drops of essential oils. Spoon into muffin cups and bake 20-25 minutes. I topped mine with cream cheese frosting and dust with powdered cinnamon or embellish with edible acorn (Hershey’s Kiss, Nutter Butter mini for top and chocolate chip…but obviously no longer low cal with toppers). Makes 24 muffins!

Cinnamon & Brown Sugar Party Mix

Ingredients:

2 cups of each Chex cereal: wheat, cinnamon, honey nut
crushed white chocolate covered pretzels (I used 2 small snack sized bags)
bag of pecans
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 drops of cinnamon bark essential oil
2 packages of mini waffle bowls (24)

Directions: Add everything to a large bowl (with lid) or bag. Shake. Serve in mini-waffle cone bowls.

Apple Cider Punch (adapted from BHG)

Ingredients:

1/2 gal. apple cider
2 cups orange juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 750 ml bottle of sparkling grape juice
serve over ice with a drop of cinnamon bark or lemon essential oil

Add everything to punch bowl or beverage decanter and stir.

Cheese & Cracker Tray – add your choice of essential oils to create a cream cheese spread, a delicious dip or a drop or two to hummus. Add some fresh organic fruit and nuts, etc.
