Linn and her husband recently removated their kitchen (must visit her to see that awesome-ness!) But the old kitchen cart felt out of place so they stained the top, painted the base to match their painted cabinets and gave it some new hardware.

Today I’d like to introduce you to Ashley from…
Ashley is awaiting the pending arrival of her sweet baby girl soon and she’s just finished up the nursery. It’s an awesome combination of old, new and LOTS of DIY. The result is amazing! I love the bold non-traditional colors, don’t you? (Even her blog header looks good mixed in with the reveal photos!) 
First thing you can’t help but notice is the gorgeous argyle wall. Something that’s definitely going to catch baby girl’s eye. 
The also painted the base of the crib – isn’t that a clever idea to give it some special detail?

So, they turned it into (non-permanent/easily removable) recessed shelving…
