Grand Design

Got some DIY and decorating eye candy for you!  Just in time to inspire your weekend DIY.  Unless you’re on break for the holidays and focused on all of the fun holiday preparations?  I’m not to that point yet but hopefully after the weekend, we will be until 2011.

Nikki from Grand Design is amazing. Here are a few of her projects but if you have time this weekend, head over and check out more!
Her little boy’s bedroom is too cute.  Don’t you just love the antique feel? Cool lockers, beautiful antique furniture and I bet he loves the pendant star light fixture!

Sweet little princess room… again, so cozy and vintage and just so sweet. Gorgeous bed and old windows!
She also transformed her friend’s bedroom.  It’s stunning.  Nikki’s style is the type that inspires me, what I’d love my home to reflect.  If your friend turned your room into a pretty, relaxing retreat like this would you be forever grateful?
You’ll have to visit Nikki’s original post to get all of the details but this original art has special meaning.  It’s beautiful:
An old door headboard.  Clever and so pretty!
And even a window seat…
So what do you guys think? Dreamy?
Nikki, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful designs and inspiring DIY projects!

Tragic Sensation – Behind Green Doors

Dramatic blog post title?!  Well, that’s what it is. A dramatic tale of a tragic entry turned sensational!

The Blog:  Tragic Sensation

The Project:  Painting front door chartreuse!

It IS dramatic.  In an awesome way.

I am in love with these doors.  The chartreuse was a bold choice but it definitely makes a stunning statement….

because the doors before

were really quiet and said hi.  Now they welcome you with a smile and a “Hello!”

More pictures and steps at Tragic Sensation.  I love the wreaths too.  And the fleur de lis.  Talk about a grand entrance!  🙂

The card catalog makeovers are awesome!  You can’t say you won’t be scouring Craig’s List. Right?!  The family room transformation is unbelievable.  Is that really the same room?!  I LOVE handscraped distressed floors.  My absolute favorite! Love the wainscoting and pretty, soft colors.
Adrianne, thank you for ‘showing off’ your delightful DIY creations and beautiful family room makeover!
