DIY Project Parade

Welcome to another week of DIY! I’m guessing this week DIY will include cleaning, cooking and prepping for Thanksgiving for my US friends. It’s a busy week for me too. Baby girl’s 20th birthday, Thanksgiving and a giveaway tomorrow that you’re NOT going to want to miss. Someone is getting an early Christmas gift!

This past week, I turned an old thrift store framed art print into Thanksgiving decor with a sweet reminder to “give thanks”…

I also wanted to share about the Better Homes & Gardens – Get Cozy, Give Back event. Cozy blankets, snuggling…Lalka was more than happy to do her part. Submit photos to the BHG Live Better Facebook page. The more participants and cozy photos, the larger the contribution will be made to Children’s Miracle Network.

Purchase a Better Homes and Gardens new soft Sherpa throw, royal plush blanket, or faux fur comforter set {WalMart}. That’s where I got the one shown above.

Each photo submission helps make a charitable contribution to Children’s Miracle Network ($500 for every 250 photos submitted, max of $2k).

Hello DIY friends! Another busy week of DIY! Here’s a DIY recap from DIY Show Off last week. I was all about coffee tables!

Junked trunk to coffee table ~perfect budget friendly furnishing/storage solution for a small apartment. Just some spray paint and FrogTape.

and a DIY upholstered tufted coffee table turned ottoman for the family room…

Wow. WOW! Last week’s party was so much fun and everything linked up was amazing! There was so much inspiration, I’m speechless. Not ‘wordless’ because I have to type something up but you.are.DIY.stars, my friends! You can see all of last week’s linked DIY here and I had the best of intentions of including some highlights but you guys, it’s so pretty here this weekend (unheard of for November…in the 70s today!) And we have a lot of this to clean up…

So I will share some awesome highlights this coming week instead of today.

What I love about today is it signals the start of a new week and a clean slate! I love this day when we celebrate DIY. Thanks so much for being here today! DIY apartment renovation updates

The process of refinishing hardwood floors is done!

There’s a herringbone painted/stenciled accent wall with open shelving for extra storage in the little kitchen…

and there is still a little time to enter the giveaway to win Ana White’s new book, The Handbuilt Home. I just received the copy I ordered and I LOVE this book!

Some favorites from last week’s party:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the crate book shelf at Brandon & Shelby. We wanted to do this in the apartment bedroom, but came up with a different Pinterest-inspired plan. Isn’t this awesome?

I could look at kitchen makeovers for hours and Erin from How to Nest for less shares her awesome budget friendly amazing kitchen transformation…

I’m in love with Kristine’s entire home, including her latest vintage entryway makeover at the Painted Hive. Simple changes can make a sweet difference.

I’m not kidding when I say, I’d never get out of bed if my master bedroom suite looked this pretty. I love the gray, purple and silver color combination (and all of the DIY) in Renee’s master bedroom at the Abundant Abode…
