Check out what I bought yesterday…
A lot of 9 steamer trunks. I couldn’t resist. Mr. DIY may consider an intervention. But you guys! The price was just too good to pass by and it was an all or nothing type deal. And you know I’ll find somewhere for a few of them. So will Bri. Ali will probably want one too. How about you? 😉
I love imperfectly perfect!
They’re not in the best condition which makes it all the more okay to get creative with these. I’m always afraid to mess up something vintage and in mint condition but these…these have potential. These allow more awesome creative options!
Check out these amazing ideas for inspiration:

Have you found any awesome junk lately?
If you haven’t already, I’d really {appreciate} love for you to pop over to enter the Wallpaper for Windows giveaway – $75 credit towards giving windows in your home some privacy or a little decorative touch.
I wish I had it in me to be a stealer – I would so come sneak one away from you 😉 Those are fab.
haha! Thanks, Bev! If you were local, we could work on them together. One for you!
One in every room, I say. These are amazing. I used to have a great old trunk that sat in my sunroom (my ex has it now). Wish I’d fought harder for it.
You are a girl after my own heart! I would have done it, too! Can’t wait to see what you come up with…
I LOVE those. I’ll take one. They’re great.
To heck with an intervention, I see a visionary with items of mass appeal!
~Bliss~
i’ll be right over for mine! love them
I wish I had whatever that creative thing is that you have when you see potential in items like these trunks. I didn’t get it until I scrolled down to see your inspiration photos, then I was like, those look soooo great. And even untouched they would have that great industrial look going for them. Creativity and imagination, you got ’em, kiddo.
What an amazing find! I love what you’ve done with them so far. I want one! I went junk hunting yesterday and struck out.
Can’t wait to see how you transform them!
Holy cow! How lucky did you get?! You had better put those under lock and key….some of us might just come sneakin’ around in the middle of the night. 😉
Those are amazing!! I’d have bought every single one of them too! I only wish I could find things that fabulous at my thrift stores. Awesome! Lucky you. I can’t wait to see what you do with them!
Wow, love it! And I love that you bought so many! 😉 You will totally find something to do with all of these, and I can’t wait to read about it!
I wish I could find some trunks! The local Salvation Army wanted $40 for one like this. I love your inspiration photos.
Love those trunks! I haven’t found anything lately, but I’m hoping to hit some yard sales next weekend!!!
Roeshel, what a moveable feast of trunkage! You’ll never miss one if I spirit it away in the middle of the night. Right? Looking forward to your trunk-y fun!
I would absolutely have gone for it too! Can’t wait to see what you come up with- and I’ll be in line for any left over 😉
Ugh ok there is a place near me that sells old furniture and I always want to go but never make time. Every day I drive by a trunk they have sitting outside and I say to myself “self, we need to get that trunk for little girl’s toys”. I think I might just have to go get a price on it tomorrow and possibly buy it. Thanks for the inspiration!
who could blame you for jumping on that purchase!!! that’s a great haul! You’re a lucky girl!

Oh my gosh! I’m so jealous. The possibilities are endless. I really really love that striped trunk, too.

I have a gold, really, really gold looking steamer trunk I got for so cheap I couldn’t pass by either. I love the examples! Need to Redoux them ASAP! -K
You have such great ideas!!!!!
Loved this post! I have an huge old humpback trunk. The hinges and straps are missing but I still want to at least paint it. It was once painted black with enamel paint and I can’t get the paint off. I’ll get the leather and hardware when I know how to decorate it. Otherwise it would be money wasted. Can you help me? Thank you!!!!
I’ll keep you posted soon with some fun ideas that I take on with my collection, NanaAncy! In your case with wanting to give it another paint job, I’d just scuff up the enamel paint finish, prime and paint then seal! I’ll be doing this on one or more of mine (hopefully sometime this month!). Good luck!
Thank you!
My husband would have me committed if I came home with all those trunks! And I have no idea where in the world I would store them ….
You are crazy! Can’t see what you do with them. Love the inspiration pics!
🙂

I did tell him after the fact but he still hasn’t ventured down to the barn to take a look so I don’t think he realizes that there are 9 HUGE steamer trunks. lol I have some ideas…now to just find the time. Hoping after Easter Sunday. Emptying one room created a disaster in 3 other rooms. lol I need to get busy (it’s been a crazy week with family priorities).
Thanks for stopping by, Linda! 🙂
