My daughter, Ali, recently scored three canvases at the thrift store for about .79/each. Then, after seeing a peacock triptych here, we decided to try our own peacock feather silhouette using the colors for her planned dining room.

We’ve added a mustard/gold to incorporate the dining room table in that color. I love that it’s versatile. Horizontal…
Vertical…
So cute!
Materials:
- Vinyl art (make your own using a Silhouette or check out the selection at Design Divas)
- 3 canvases (see selection at Canvas Corp.)
- Deco Art Americana paints (we used Gold, Turquoise, Purple)
See the tutorial today at the DIY Club!

this is just simply gorgeous, am so doing this myself. Thanks for the inspiration.
Isn’t that adorable! You guys always come up with such great ideas.
Oh Wow..This is so beautiful!! 🙂 fantastic idea for a triptych!
What a beautiful job. I’m very partial to peacock’s and I have a huge stencil that I just can’t part with, along with several small ones. Your colors are so uplifting and some of my favorites. I say favorites but when it comes to color it is hard for me to pick one as my favorite.
There just aren’t enough thrift stores.lololol
Oh so very clever! Love the color combo.
that is so fun and cute!
Came really great! Love the colors.
That looks fantastic! Love the bold colors.
How creative, I love the colors, they are stunning together and make such a statement.
Oh I love it, simply gorgeous. Can’t wait to make one like that !
Love, love, love this! and the colors are gorgeous!
How pretty! Love that color scheme!
Based on something I noticed and commented on in the tutorial, I just wanted to add and shre this with others. Just a tip for next time: If you go over the stencil/vinyl with white paint and let it dry, before layering your two colors, any paint that seeps under the vinyl will be white and not colored. You end up with much cleaner lines and significantly less touchup in the end. Love the DYI, very cute!
Thanks for including the tip here, Yolanda. I agree – that really works. I’ve done that for large projects like our striped and stenciled walls and it definitely cuts down on the touch ups. For this small project, I liked the feathered look that seeping paint gave it so touch up wasn’t needed. 😉
Those canvases are really pretty. I think I like the vertical… not sure why. Yay for the features, but not really surprised. You are a very talented, hard working lady! Kudos!

Very cute… love the colors!
I absolutely LOVE this and I love peacocks! So this would be the perfect thing for me to do. Problem is I have search everywhere and can’t seem to find not even a feather to modify! Can you please help??
Sunni
Thanks, Sunni!
I bought my image from the online Silhouette America store. Are you using a Silhouette for your design?
The only other option I can think of is wallums has a vinyl peacock feather: http://www.etsy.com/listing/83576441/peacock-feather-vinyl-decal-wall-art?ref=sr_gallery_8&ga_search_query=peacock+feather+vinyl&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=ZZ&ga_min=0&ga_max=0&ga_search_type=all
Hope that helps!

Thank you so much for your help. All I found were vinyls, but there were huge (over 35″x20″). I didn’t want the piec to cover the whole wall.
