A Little Bit of Glam

Pink and all things girly and feminine. That’s just what this nursery is – beautiful with fairy tale details by Meaghen at Musings of a Glamourpuss.

Here is her letter:

“The room was originally crib storage and playroom. Then we found out we were having a baby and she was a girl! We started with builder’s yellow (lol not beige), and I had one piece of inspiration: a vintage looking notecard in light shades of pink, cream, and black lace. I chose two shades of pink, and my hubby and I measured out and traced pencil lines (next time I am using chalk instead) for the thick stripes. I couldn’t find any bedding in the colours I wanted – it was either black and white or pink and brown – so my mom helped make the crib bedding. I designed and hubby built the change table. The little birds on the black shelves were originally blue and I spray painted them black. The lamp on the side table is a work in progress – I have been weaving ribbon in the base, and there are about 25 yards in there so far. We added some glitz and glam with the chrome and crystal chandelier and the cut crystal finials on the curtain rod. I also added the thick black ribbon at the base of the curtains for some additional interest!”

So here is the before:

Now, it’s this beautiful nursery:

Subtle and soothing stripes. The chandelier is gorgeous. The framed art definitely ads glam! Great job, Meaghen! It’s a beautiful dramatic change! I love it!

The Sweetest Nursery

Meredith from La Buena Vida has created the CUTEST little nursery for her little precious baby girl. At the time she designed it, she wasn’t 100% on if she was having a girl or boy. Click here for full details but here is the before:
Here’s a picture of what the room basically looked like before…it was a storage room for all our junk, and had the builder’s white walls and tan carpet:
And AFTER:

Justify FullIsn’t it sweet? The wall color is so pretty with the white furniture and pink accents. I love the tree mural and her DIY wall art is awesome! It’s such a happy and cheerful room. I love it! I’ve been lucky enough to see some of the rest of her home (berrysweet) and not only does she take great pictures, she has a natural talent for decorating and a beautiful home. Thanks for allowing me to share a peek with everyone, Meredith!

My good friend Christy at Embellished Bayou is having awesome celebration! Don’t miss it!

The Cutest Little Nursery

I’m back! I hope you all had a fantastic week last week. The Show & Tell was huge – I’m still going through the links and hope to highlight a few later this week. Thanks for participating! Thanks for the thoughts and prayers too! I’m hanging in there. 🙂

Kristal just completed the cutest nursery. The color is so soothing and the accents are just so precious. Here is her post but you can get more details at her blog, Good Food Good Friends Good Life

Almost every single book in the nursery is from my childhood. There are a few new ones, but most were mine and my brother’s when we were growing up:

See the cute little squirrel? He’s actually an ornament that I got at the STLWed Ornament Exchange. He’s so perfect for the nursery!

I made the crib skirt to coordinate with the rest of the fabric:

I actually bought different art work to go above the crib, but later decided that I wanted to pull the fabric in in a few more places, so I framed a few pieces:

I randomly came across these pillow covers at Target and couldn’t believe how well they fit with the nursery. For $4.00 each (yes, $4.00!) I couldn’t resist!
