More Green for Less Green

Pamm from More Green for Less Green has a blog full of helpful tips and some before/afters of her home. I love her introduction: “Here is some our our journey from taking a foreclosure from roach motel to cozy house at low cost and with eco-friendly choices.”
In celebration of spring, planting and spring cleaning, here are her links if you’d like to read more:

And now her home practicing ‘more green for less green’.

Blog Buddies = Inspiration (and a Show & Tell)

In the event that you aren’t aware of this site (where have you been?! Just kidding!), I wanted to take a minute to share it with you. I’ve been a follower for quite a while, but today while making a crazy stock-up-before-the-storm shopping trip, I was excited to see Flea Market Style magazine on the shelf! I couldn’t wait to get home and didn’t even mind seeing the fat snowflakes falling (again!) and thoughts of our poor fallen gutter and not being able to get out of the driveway yet again were soon forgotten although I wish I could read it outside down at the barn patio. Remember it? A little too freezing to hang out there. Anyway – pages of beautiful inspiring cozy flea market, farmhouse and cottage decor are guaranteed to keep me comfortable and warm the next few days! Keep your eyes open in the check out line if you haven’t grabbed a copy already!

Then! Remember when I shared that PK from Room Remix and I were featured in BHG’s 100 Decorating Ideas for Under $100?

I met (blog-met) another featured blogger! I love making new friends! Where have I been and why haven’t I stumbled across her awesome blog before? Her stool covers are so beautiful and I am definitely inspired to dress up a small island bar and stools I have in my home. I’m adding it to my spring DIY list. So, dear blog friend, Meet Stacy from Red Door Home.

Here is her letter:

Hi!

Just found your wonderful blog (a new follower as of today) and wanted to share a project of mine. This cover was shown in the current edition of BH&G’s 100 Decorating ideas under 100.

The stool before:

The stool after with the cover I designed:

Not shown in the magazine are three other covers that I made as well:

All of these covers are simple to make and use a minimal amount of fabric. They are a great way to dress up a standard bar or counter height stool.

Aren’t they gorgeous? And you’ll find so much more inspiration, beautiful before and afters, tutorials and decorating eye candy at Red Door Home – go check it out!
Thanks for sharing your creativity, Stacy!

Have a great weekend and if you’re somewhere warm with
sunshine, I don’t want to know about it! Imagine the fun I’ll be having building a snowman and making snow angels. I’m more likely to be snuggled under the blankies with my magazines, laptop and hot cocoa but … I can pretend to enjoy the pretty snow. So, if you’re visiting this weekend – feel free to SHOW OFF your favorite post on your blog by linking yourself below. I mean it when I say I won’t be going out so thanks in advance for giving me a place to visit while hibernate!

Show Off Your Blog!

  1. Link your name and your favorite blog post or just your blog url if all of your posts are your favorites. As you know, before/after and DIY are my favorites!
  2. One LINK per person per blog please! (Duplicates will be deleted.)
  3. I’d love it if you’d grab the DIY Show Off button from the side bar if you’re joining in and invite your friends to the party!

*~*~*~*

If you’re new to The DIY Show Off, welcome! I started this blog to journal my own DIY home projects. See the before/after transformations HERE. It’s still a work in progress and always under construction. More of my current living room projects coming soon! We work on renovating and decorating our farmhouse as time and money allows so in between, I love featuring other DIY’ers! If you’re looking for some DIY inspiration, feel free to browse the categories on the left side bar for some ideas!

DIY Show & Tell Week

Thanks for your emails the last few days. I am okay…just dealing with a little personal heartbreak so I won’t be blogging this week. But, I’m here and thought I’d open the week up to showing off your DIY projects.

A Show & Tell with links to DIY inspiration that I haven’t seen yet or something DIY that you just completed and want to show off. If you have a project, please link up all week long. If you’re here to see what’s new, please check out the links below and come back to see what’s been added. I plan on throwing my own time and energy into some DIY to keep my mind occupied after I get through this week. DIY is therapy, right? Right!

I hope you’ll still stop by daily to check the links, use the search button to find something specific or check out the DIY Show Off library (labels) on the left side bar to find some inspiration.

Let’s see what you’re up to…

~*~*~*~

If you’d like to link YOUR DIY project post to the party:
  1. You must use the button above and link to this post to share the linky love.
  2. Add your permalink (not your blog url, but your Show & Tell post url). Feel free to link a Past Post, just invite your readers in a current post with a quick note.
  3. Or email your link to thediyshowoff@gmail.com and I will add it for you.
  4. The party will run all week long!
  5. If you notice your link has disappeared please add the link back to The DIY Show Off to your post today with a quick note to your readers about the party and try again! I love when everyone participates and readers check out everyone’s links, but I think the return favor of linking back is the nice thing to do so everyone plays fair and enjoys all of the projects and links. Also – this Show & Tell is for DIY projects only. Links not related to DIY will be deleted.

Thanks for sharing! I’ll be stopping by to visit and maybe choose a few to highlight next week. I do have some amazing DIY features from some very talented readers that I’ll be “showing off” next week. If you have a DIY project that you’d like to “show off”, just send me an email with the link to your blog post. Thanks everyone! Have a SUPER week!
