Vintage Window Mirror and the DIY Project Parade

It’s been a week and I can’t wait to see what you’ve been DIY-ing!  This week, I created an acid-look vintage window mirror using an old window, Krylon Looking Glass Mirror-Like paint, Gorilla Glue and left over fabric.  Super easy!

1.  It seems there is rumor that Krylon was going to discontinue Looking Glass paint.  Myth!  Krylon states there is no plan to discontinue Looking Glass paint.

2.   They also said that the main retailer for the looking glass is Michaels.  I would also try other crafting stores. The product rep gave me this Web site as well. They said they usually refer people to it to find more products:

More Vintage Window Projects

Vintage windows catch my attention every time.  Our barn is full of the original windows from this old farmhouse yet when I spot them at a yardsale, I’m piling them in my car!  I’m addicted.  Remember when I did this post for vintage window ideas?  Well, here are some more ideas from creative readers., Whitney and Katie.  Click the links to visit the original post (send my love while you’re there!).

A window frame from Whitney at Our Sweet Story

Old vintage windows usually sell for $1 to $10 at yard sales, salvage shops, etc.  Back with burlap, add precious photos and hang.  Instant art!

I love this!  I’ve been taking a lot of photos in my family lately.  Must.do.this.  Thanks for the inspiration, Whitney.  It looks easy and it’s a beautiful photo display!
Katie from Not Just Decorating had this clever idea for a menu board…

$5 window from Habitat.

This is 40″ by 40″ and fills a huge empty wall in her kitchen.
Total Cost: $10!
Window: $5
Picture Hangers: $2.25
Scrapbook paper and hangers: $3
Katie added hooks to the bottom to hang her aprons. Love the details!
Isn’t that pretty?  I love that it’s functional and for $10 – a large statement on a big bare wall.  Great job, Katie!  I love the pretty paper and that it’s also an really quick, easy, inexpensive project!
Editing to add this awesome Halloween project from Pattie at on HollyHock Farm!
