Meet: Virginia from
who recently shared her guest bathroom reveal, beautiful and full of do-it-yourself details.

It’s amazing what a little paint can do, isn’t it?
They painted the vanity & trim a glossy white and switched out the terrible 1980’s gold & silver two-toned hardware.
Here are some side-by-side before & after shots.
A painted faucet!
$5 upgrade for a can of spray paint. MUCH better than $130, and it looks great!
My favorite part of her bathroom makeover is the horizontal stripes (we did so many of these same projects! Creative minds DIY alike!). It’s a lot of work, but so worth the results.
$20 DIY art!
Virginia, you did an amazing job on the DIY details and small budget! I can’t believe it’s the same bathroom. Beautiful!

That is just beautiful! I’m going to head over there and tell her! 🙂
Vanessa
thank you so much!!!
So, pretty!! Loving the stripes, too!!
It’s lovely! Amazing how the most simple things can really change it up!
Wow! What a fantastic job! Well done! The stripes on the wall, spectacular! Did you just use tape to do it? This inspires me! 🙂
Shellie, I sure did! Just make sure to measure & make it level and then tape it up. I ran my fingernail across the edge of the tape to press it down firmly, and then paint! Also, make sure to remove the tape while the paint is still wet so that it doesn’t pull of the paint. Thanks for the sweet words! ~Virginia
Wow, this inspires me! What a fantstic job! Can you tell me what colors and brand of paint you used for the stripes and main bathroom color? Love it, well done!
Shelle, I’m sure that’s what Virginia did. In our bathroom makeover we also have horizontal stripes. I wrote a post about the process we used and some tips and tricks that you might find helpful. https://diyshowoff.com/2009/11/03/bathroom-update/
Virginia’s bathroom is gorgeous, isn’t it?
Hi-do you know the exact spraypaint that was used on the faucets? I am having trouble trying to find something to make my look similar? Thanks!
Hi Shannon – I do not since that was a DIY feature. If you click her blog button, you’ll be directed to her original blog. I’m sure she’d be able to tell you. I also have painted faucets. Here is my tutorial which might be of help to you: https://diyshowoff.com/2009/12/06/painting-faucets-and-painted-floor-progress/
Thanks so much, such a great blog!
