Have you been following along the Craft Rooms and Spaces series hosted by Angie at Country Chic Cottage? It’s so fun seeing where bloggers create, getting ideas and motivation to maybe initiate some spring cleaning and organization in your own space?
Thanks to Angie for the invitation to participate! I had no choice but to finally put things away. Here’s my chaotic craft room when I agreed to join the series…
Yikes!
I’ve made some changes and cleaned things up for your arrival today. Ready for oodles of pics? There’s lots to see!
Looking into the room from the hall (the resin button plaques on the wall are several years old, so no source to list).
One first thing you’ll notice is this room is PACKED full. But when everything is organized and tidy and in it’s place, its a great space for getting creative. The old farmhouse dining room table serves as a great workspace.
The skirt is sewn into simple custom sized rod pocket panels and attached using tension rods on 3 sides. I’m ready for an updated fabric/pattern but what I really love about the skirt is that it hides even more storage (things not so pretty to display, boxes of supplies and such) under the table.
The walls are lined with inexpensive shelving units, some tucked for a perfect fit against the back wall, providing TONS of storage and organization. A string of lights adds a fun festive feel.
A small DIY desk area holds our desktop computer, although I’m more inclined to work from my laptop in the living room most days.
I love the mix of old crates, baskets and vintage finds for storing craft supplies, mason jars for scrap ribbon by color…
I recently added some shelves to the window for plants to bring some “life” to the space.
I love that this window sits low, close to the floor. The shelves add a little privacy (second floor) but still allow for lots of natural light to flood the room.
I don’t remember where I got the light fixture (maybe Urban Outfitters years ago) but I really like the cage and sometimes clip cards or paint swatches there.
The walls are filled with a mix of fun frames collected over time, some with family photos, others just random art or thrift store finds and continues to grow here and there.
A DIY chalkboard + cork board + burlap message center helps keep ideas and schedules more organized.
A lot going on, right? A LOT of junk which I’ve unsuccessfully tried to downsize but perhaps one day I’ll grasp the truth that if I haven’t used it in 10 years, I probably never will but I’m still waiting for that day to arrive.

Gorgeous! That is one inspiring room! Life to the full! Melissa @ DaisyMaeBelle
I LOVE your craft room, Roeshel! It made me smile b/c I have so many of the same things! Unfortunately, when we moved last year, I went from a whole room to a corner of our bonus room so my space feels so cramped! My oldest heads to college this fall and although I will miss him dearly, I am secretly excited to be able to appropriate his bedroom, hehe! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous space 🙂
I love this space, it is fabulous and I love how you have added personal touches all over the room with family momentos and accessories. Gorgeous. I could work in there all day. I would love for you to link up to my ongoing Inspire Me party at http://www.astrollthrulife.net/2014/04/211th-inspire-me-tuesday.html. Hope to see you there. Hugs, Marty
What an amazing space!! Just looking at it makes me want to create something. I especially appreciated the “before” photo though — nice to know that true creativity doesn’t come without a little chaos!
what a treat to get a tour of where you create! it’s full of character and beauty! thank you so much roeshel for sharing! =)
You make my vintage loving heart sing Roeshel. I adore this. Thanks for showing us!
I wish I was half that organized. I have a total mess going on everywhere right now….. too many fixes, redo’s and still flooring to do. I am now inspired to know that I can someday get it together at least a little bit like you.
Hey Roeshel, I love your craft room. It looks like pure happiness! Mine looks the same only different 🙂 Don’t get rid of anything. You have it because you like it so it belongs there.
that is the biggest and most organized craft room I’ve seen in a long time! Looks amazing. Love all the little touches that give big effects!
Completely envious of the amount of light you have in your space. It’s my biggest frustration in my basement studio. Also glad to know everyone else cleaned before joining this tour too!
What an awesome room. I want one!
What an amazing creative space Roeshel! I love it – thanks for sharing it!!
Love it! I love the before picture–I spied your Haven bag in the corner! Very good use of space-I love the shelves on the window!
Thanks for sharing this perfect craft organizing.. everything specially the wall filled with fix frame.. and the concept of closed window with natural light…. like it..
Love, love, love your craft room !!! Baskets and shelves and a photo gallery too. So inspirational and cozy. What I want my room to look like. Thanks for the great tour 🙂

Oh my happy place! I could hang out in there for hours Roeshel. Love all the creativity. Stylish storage, a brilliant skirted work table, wall gallery, windows shelves. All of it.
What a inspired filled place! Wow, I would love getting my creative mojo on here, off to pin some of your wonderful pictures!
What an amazing space! Creativity overflows from your room. ♥ it! Pinned. xoxo
What a great craft room. We don’t have a spare bedroom and I don’t want to mess up my dining room all the time so I am currently redesigning my half of the garage to create a design studio that I can relax and be creative in. For years it has been an unorganized dingy mess. Very uninspiring. I am at the point where it is now clean and functional but not photo ready yet. I have some more decorating to do. Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh what a lovely room. I would love to have a craft room. Maybe someday. Right now I have a craft closet lol.. which is a chaotic mess of boxes labeled with supplies inside so I can try to keep it neat around here. Thanks for the share. 🙂
