I personally haven’t had a chance to read the series (or see the movie) but it is on my reading list (I’m just starting the 3rd in the Bronze Horseman series) but I do love to read and I do love DIY and rustic charm. Our talented DIY friend, Angie from
has combined all of that to create a beautifully inspiring piece for her master bedroom…
I love that quote. It makes me look forward to starting the book series. Angie started with barnwood:
For the lettering, Angie used her Silhouette and vinyl but this can be done using stencils or free-hand too.
A dry brush technique is perfect for a rustic look on reclaimed wood…
When done painting, simply peel away the vinyl lettering…
I love it’s rustic charm and that quote is super sweet!
Isn’t this gorgeous? If she was selling, I’d be buying. 😉 You can see the fuller, more detailed tutorial and pin from the original source at The Country Chic Cottage and soon she’ll be sharing where it’s going…looking forward to that, aren’t you? Great job, Angie!
Love it! Angie is a talented lady!
Great tutorial, Roeshel thanks so much for sharing; I’ll definitely check out Angie’s site to give this a try!
LOVE, love, love the sign. Thought the movie was a waste of my time – but my kids liked it. I will be interested to see what you think after you see it.
Thanks so much Roeshel!! 🙂 You made my week! 🙂
What a beautiful sign! 🙂 I am almost finished with Book 2 of the series and LOVING IT! Can’t wait for you to read it and join in on the fun!
Nice. I just started the first book.
Love the natural wood showing through the letters – great project 🙂
I’d love to try that project. But I would use a light coat of spray paint to save time.
What a lovely project and a lovely quote
Cannot even think of where that quote would have been in the movie or any of the three books, but “May the odds be EVER in your favor!”
I’m not sure, Jackie. It’s on my reading list (and I do prefer to read the books before the movie) so it’ll be a while but I’ll be watching for it! 😉 lol! I’m guessing your quote was from the book/movie too! That’s a great one too!
