My trip to the thrift store this week resulted in two Venice prints. A little more expensive than I’d normally consider ($10/each) but the retail price shows $40/each and they have an old world feel that’s perfect for the living room. $80 for $20. Not bad.
I needed to add some steel wire to the back to hang {tips for hanging pictures on plaster walls}…
and now they fill a previously empty wall space:
Our living room is definitely a mix of traditional (working with what we already have) and eclectic (thrifty finds). It’s different but I’m finally liking how it’s coming together.
I love the dark frames against our Ben Moore smokey taupe walls.
A little more formal than our casual family room (see the sneak peek of my playing around with what we have on hand through the French doors)…
Giveaway coming Sunday at the DIY Project Parade for something in these living room pictures. Hope you’ll stop back to enter to win!
And just for fun and inspiration {yard sale season starts soon!}, here are some of the other thrifty treasures from around our house:
Have a wonderful, productive, thrifty, do-it-yourself-filled weekend!
Love your new pictures, they look amazing. Your home looks lovely and I think your ability to find and display all your thrifty treasures make it fabulous. Hugs, Marty
Thanks, Marty! I just love finding unique/thrifted accents for decorating. I’m so glad you stopped by and took the time to comment today! Good to “see” you! Have a great weekend!
Love the pictures! Great buy….I’m looking at your yard sale/thrifty finds and I started laughing because we have much the same taste. For instance, your wing back chair? I got mine at a yard sale only mine are dark blue leather. Globe, Alarm clock, Mason jars? Check. Wicker ottoman? mine’s square. Old step-ladder? check. 40’s fan? check. Ice Cream (or parlor) set? Yep………it’s funny. Your’s are displayed much better than mine though! 🙂 Loved the stuff!
Great minds decorate alike, Kelli! 😉 Thanks for taking the time to share – I’d LOVE your home! Have a great weekend!
Love the new prints! I haven’t found much of anything thrifting lately, but we’re heading into garage sale season, so I have high hopes.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your prints!!! I have quite a bit of Paris/Venice/Rome prints throughout my home! I love the look of it! My brother studied a semester oversees…and I used some of his pix from Italy and blew two pix up large to hang over my couch in my living room! But, I love black/white and sepia tone prints from Italy/Paris…something about it…love your find!!! Your style is AMAZING!!!
Oh, you brought home the prints and their frames for $10 each….. I think that is fabulous and look so perfect in your living room
I only know poverty eclectic for myself, but have been in beautiful homes and some not so beatuful, but yet expensive. I personally think you are doing just great.
Show us more of the family room before?
Those prints are gorgeous.
I have a guess as to the give-a-way!!!
By the way…I LOVE the new header.
