DIY Project Parade and awesome DIY features

Hello, DIY friends! It’s that time of the week…time for a fresh new DIY linky party and some awesome DIY features.

DIY Project Parade featured image

If you’re wondering where I’ve been, I’m here. I’ve just been working on non-blogging priorities and doing some major cleaning. Today is the day of our “home visit” with our local Italian Greyhound Rescue. I don’t think they “inspect” your home exactly, but strangers interviewing us in our home does feel like an inspection. Besides, since the new year makes me WANT to clean and declutter, routine cleaning turned into organizing cupboards, closets, purging, 3 trash bags and a pile for donating…well, that’s where I’ve been.

No fear…DIY in the DIYShowOff home will get back on schedule this week. But with a pooch in our near future…this DIY from last week caught my eye. Dog dish chairs at the DIY Village. Awesome!

DIY Project Parade and Highlights

Helloooo!

I’m just about a day late with the Project Parade this week and I apologize. Today is my daughter’s birthday. {Happy Birthday, Bri!} Last week, I spent a lot of time cleaning (as in…full blast purging and organzing) as well as running a lot of errands.  And today, you’re not going to believe this: I cooked! Stuffed peppers upon request. And I baked. A cake. From scratch. A blue velvet birthday cake with cream cheese frosting. If you’re a long time DIY Show Off fan, you know that Mr. DIY does the cooking around here. But every once in a blue moon, I venture to the grocery store, find the kitchen and actually cook a meal {usually reserved for special occasions}.

I don’t have a problem with cooking or baking but as you can see…it threw me off schedule. Oops!

Hoping to share some DIY this week, but in all seriousness, I’m on a cleaning streak. Home visitation for rescuing a sweet furbaby coming up and it’s as if I’m nesting. Everything must be perfect (we’re talking cleaning out closets, cupboards, etc…crazy, right?!).

DIY Project Parade and DIY Highlights

Hey DIY friends! It’s time for the DIY Project Parade and Highlights. Time for inspirational ideas for projects in the new year, seeing what you’ve been up to. I have a feeling most everyone is thinking about organization. Something about starting a fresh new year with the de-cluttering that packing up Christmas does. I look forward to you joining the party and ‘showing off’ your DIY.

You might be wondering “where have you been?!” It’s not like me to not blog consistently. You may have noticed the new header…just a little cleaner (although I’m no graphic designer) and a little tweak here and there at DIY Show Off. I’ve also just been working on some new 2013 goals that I will share with you later this week. Plus…auto-focus is not working on my camera. Have you ever tried manual-focus. Imagine not being able to find your glasses when you wake up in the morning…fuzzy vision. That’s what my pictures are looking like.

Last week’s party was filled with motivation and inspiration AND so many amazing 2012 DIY recap round ups…you have been busy! I love it! Here are some projects packed with ‘wow’!

I didn’t have a chance to let these ladies know they were being featured yet…sorry, girls! Part of my new schedule will work in time for comments. So, Surprise! Please feel free to grab an “I’m Featured” button to ‘show off’.
