DIY Project Parade and Highlights

It’s weekly DIY party time and you’re invited! It’s the start of my favorite reason for blogging – when you can show off and I can see what you’ve been working on. Share your creativity in the DIY linky party and browse the other thumbnails for inspiration for your next DIY project.

I was only able to fit in a small craft project this week which I’ll be sharing with you soon but my sister, Patti, did find a house to rent! Woo hoo! She’ll be here for good in about one week! And since I know the owner of the rental house who’s familiar with my DIY and decorating passion, I have the freedom to help Patti make the rental “home”! I’m so excited and will be patching and painting walls a lot this week while she’s packing boxes and hopefully some room makeovers to share this summer.

This past week’s party links were amazing, friends! You are so clever, so creative and I don’t know where you find the time {have you noticed I didn’t even have time to blog the past two days? That’s NEVER happened!} but I’m so inspired by your awesome talent! Here are some highlights from last week:

I LOVE stripes and this gorgeous hall reveal from The Poor Sophisticate is a must see.

DIY Project Parade

I’m working on some things that I can’t wait to share this coming week. They’re small, but once I get the small stuff caught up, I’ll be ready to move forward onto bigger things. What? You want a hint? Well, okay then!

One of the project involved demolition of a headboard…

I have some yard sale finds to share, a barn patio project and a crafty little something.

I made a wrist corsage and took prom pictures for my special needs cousin, Katie. It’s become tradition. I make a wrist corsage that matches her dress and snap some yearly photos.

I practiced photography and took some senior pictures and created graduation party invitations for a family friend…{the balloons are to protect her identity online}

And we’ve been cleaning up some of this…

{thank you, Butch!}

I told you – a little bit of everything and busy! {My sister also found a house to rent locally so there will be so many more budget friendly DIY projects and room makeovers squeezed in between our own projects. FUN!}

Let’s see what you’ve accomplished recently!

DIY inspiration from the Project Parade

These links in the DIY Project Parade are inspiration to me personally this week. I’m so thankful to all of the talented blog friends who take the time to link up and show off…it’s just the motivation I need for a few things I have going on with helping my sister decorate her new home next month.

Carmel at Our Fifth House shared her DIY pegboard headboard and I’ve been looking for budget friendly DIY ideas to surprise my nephew. Isn’t this awesome? I love all of the DIY details in this room. And I need to make that bed frame too! Great job, Carmel!

My teenage niece is going to want a glam bedroom and I see a pretty DIY chandelier makeover in my near future like this beautiful one shared by Ada’s Interior Design

We’re going to need some fabric and Dear Emmeline has reminded me that repurposing vintage curtains {sheets too} is a beautiful, affordable option with yard sale season in full swing…

My sister has an old dining room table and a thrift store eat-in kitchen table and we can’t wait to give them a ‘makeover’. The table makeover from Art is Beauty is bookmarked in our idea folder…

As soon as my sister goes back to FL to pack up the last of her things, I’m sneaking over to redo her master bedroom. I’d love to surprise her with a beautiful romantic master bedroom. Have you seen the master bedroom reveal at Raising Up Rubies? Breathtaking!
