Re-upholstering before and after!

Oh man, this is on my DIY to-do list (finding free/low cost chairs with great bones and giving them a makeover). I’m so impressed with Heather at Tallgrass Design.  First, because I never even considered taking an upholstery class (must check into this) and second for her amazing job with her chair rescues for her hearth room.

Here is what one of the chairs looked like before:

And now?  Beautiful!  Aren’t they great in her space?  I’m off to check out Craigs List.  You should head over to read Heather’s original post to get more details!

Thanks for sharing your hard work and tips, Heather!  I’m so inspired! 😉

Be Still My Beating Heart – a barn door table!

Melissa from Mason Bay is a new blogger and she’s off to an big bang of a start with showing off this DIY project.  She turned an old barn door into a beautiful table.  It’s lovely and the painted chairs add even more farmhouse charm.  I love it.

Beautiful old door and white washed legs.

She loves the imperfections and so do I – it’s one of my favorite things about farmhouse style.  Look at the old hinges!

Melissa is still looking for old chippy folding chairs but to hold her over, she painted her existing chairs…so fun!

She has DIY plans for the burlap table runner but I’m loving the turquoise stripe.    Her new old table and chairs have so much charm!  Thank you so much for sharing your cute makeovers, Melissa!  Welcome to blogging!  We look forward to seeing more!

Bed Envy!

Kate from Twenty-six to Life is giving her master bedroom a makeover.   Uncertainty didn’t deter her from getting the bed and storage she wanted from PB.   She wasn’t sure she could pull off building a bed but a DIY’er dives right in!  Using Ana White’s plans as a guide, Kate and her husband built this amazing PB inspired Stratton bed…
Kate also designed and created a beautiful tufted headboard using a pretty damask print…
It’s awesome, Kate!  LOVE the big fluffy down comforter too…snuggling up in your new big bed has to be so rewarding!  It looks like the dogs agree!
You can find more information on Kate’s original posts:

There’s more good stuff where that came from!  There’s a DIY label at the top of her blog.  Check it out!  I’m so inspired.  We have plans to build an Ana White design as well…crossing my fingers that it turns out this gorgeous too!  Looking to be a brave DIY furniture builder?  GREAT designs at Ana-White.com. Warning – you’ll be motivated to put on some safety glasses and grab your tools!  If you’ve already created something beautiful with Ana White’s direction, I’d love to see it!  I’ve been meaning to ‘show off’ her site for a while now.  What better way than to share your projects?!
