It’s still a work in progress, but my sister has asked me to design her nursery and for me to surprise her with it. Her circumstances present a challenge because she has had several failed back surgeries and with another c-section, the crib/etc. will be in her small L-shaped master bedroom for a while since it’ll be difficult for her to carry the baby up and down the stairs/etc. Accommodating a “client’ isn’t always easy but it’s still fun. My sister has some elephant art on the wall above her bed. Her bedroom is neutral gray walls with tan & green bedding.
So, I chose this bedding (not the accessories) for the baby.
Deceptive photo – the ties for the bumper pad are not long enough to go around the wide ends of the sleigh crib.
Crib and changing table are very similar to what’s in the picture too.
I made this removable cushion cover for the changing table with green/brown fabric and a velcro closure.
And I’m making little DIY felt elephants to make a mobile with ribbon and a grapevine wreath. I can’t wait to show it to you when it’s completed. I’ll do a tutorial. The elephants are so cute, aren’t they? I’ll make some brown with green ears too.
I printed a copy of the bedding/accessories from online and cut out two of the elephants to use as a pattern. This one with his trunk in the air and another one with a lowered trunk. I wish I had a need for a baby elephant mobile.
And I bought 4 of these baskets for storage under the changing table:
I have a few other plans too but this is where I’m at now. The felt elephants are mostly all sewn by hand so it’s time consuming and there’s never enough time in the day to work non-stop on DIY projects, is there?
What do you think?
I can’t wait to show it to you all put together!
Today is Kimba’s DIY Day at A Soft Place to Land! One of my favorite parties! Make sure you visit and see LOTS of DIY projects!
