Next up on our DIY list is our family room renovation and the Comfort Works sofa slipcover review saved the day. It was just what we needed for motivation to get started. With so many do-it-yourself projects planned for this room, a new couch is not in the budget. Our hunter green striped La-Z-Boy is very outdated and not our style at all anymore but it’s definitely good quality and solid but not what we want for our family room. A custom slip cover is the perfect solution.
Our sofa before is outdated and not our style…

(Full family room makeover in progress!)
I simply emailed measurements and pictures of my sofa to Comfort works, a one stop textile products shop. All custom orders can be made via email. There are so many swatches to choose from the Free Fabric Samples page:
With the custom made non-ikea sofa, customers are able to email pictures of their sofa, along with the width of the sofa (armrest to armrest) and the type of fabric they would like to
rachel@comfortworks.com.au.
The other day I received my package. It was wrapped so pretty…
I couldn’t wait to get the slip cover on! Mine is three pieces. Look at the perfect fit!
Isn’t this so much better? I can’t believe it’s the same couch.
The fit is perfect. The fabric is gorgeous.
The piping gives it a beautiful tailored look. I love it!
I love the pleated ruffle! Look at the detail…
My package also included an awesome surprise! This gorgeous embroidered pillow with the DIY Show Off logo! It’s super beautifully embroidered. Perfect colors, velvet and linen fabrics and tight even stitching…so sweet!
With the embroidery service, Comfort Works offers the service of doing initials (3 words per cushion) at this time. These initials can be on custom cushion covers, dining chair covers or sofa covers. Simply email
rachel@comfortworks.com.au with the initials and colour and she’ll reply with a quote.
GIVEAWAY ALERT! Starting tomorrow, Comfort Works will be sponsoring a giveaway at
the DIY Club!
The giveaway is a custom made embroidered cushion worth $100. One lucky winner will win 1x 40×60 cm custom linen velvet cushion cover with a personalized message ( up to 20 words) or 2x 40×40 cm cushion covers with 2 initials on each.
I received the sofa slipcover and pillow covers for my review. Opinion is my own.
I’ve never heard of them..this is awesome! Looks Great!
The “new” sofa looks amazing, Roeshel! I am just dying for something like that right now – unfortunately a new sofa is also not in my budget at the moment.
And of course, I don’t even have as good a base sofa as you do. Hubby insisted on Ikea’s Tylosand years ago (it’s a great couch, don’t get me wrong; just not so much my style). I was looking to recover it a while back, but was not impressed with the costs. I’m extremely intrigued to discover ComfortWorks also does Ikea slipcovers!!! AND, from my quick look it’s seeming pretty budget friendly!
Thanks so much for posting about this – you might just have saved our Tylosand yet!
Take care,
Christina
This would be so awesome! Thanks for the giveaway!
Looks amazing – my daughter in law has an Ikea couch with similar slipcovers and she washes them and reuses them constantly – and they still look fabulous. Quite a feat with 2 boys and a dog in the household.
Lucky girl! The sofa looks tres chic now with the darling little ruffle. How exciting to receive the pillow with your logo on it! ~ Maureen
Your sofa looks fantastic!!! and a whole lot less hassle than my reupholster job! ( Plus you got PIPING!!! and I skipped that!)
great source, thanks for sharing. The pillow was such a special touch..they go above and beyond!

Love your sofa cover. I’ve been debating purchasing an Ikea sofa vs. custom slipcover because of the custom slipcover costs. May I ask what fabric you chose, please? It looks perfect for my room! Did they give you a cost estimate prior to placing your order? Thanks so much for posting about Comfort Works. They could just be the answer I’ve been looking for!
Thanks, Zolane! Yes, they will give you a quote before placing the order! 🙂
I’m really loving my slip! They have so many great options. The quality is awesome and prices are so reasonable! Good luck! I’d love to know if you get one and see pictures!
LOVE that ruffle detail!
It looks great Roeshel. I love the pleated bottom and the piping. It really does give it a nice finish. Of course your special touches make it look even better.

Looks great! And the pillow…how fun is that!
As I have been wrestling for months with a homemade slipcover, this could be my answer. It’s beautiful!
It really is hard to believe it’s the same couch…beautiful! I love the ruffle detail.
And, congrats on winning the Cottages and Bungalows feature for your awesome landing makeover. So fun!!

I was just checking out Comfort Works the other day since I’m thinking of ordering a Manstad cover… I can’t wait for my samples to arrive! Your couch looks great.
Your site really does not give enough info. How do I get a price to cover our t-cushion couch seats…there is no phone number on the site?
Hi Tom. When you click the link to the Comfort Works site, a chat box pops up. There is also an email address listed in the post. The company is in Australia but at the bottom of their website is a “contact us” with the phone number. Hope that helps! Good luck!
Where did you get these covers from? Or did you make the? Thanks
They’re from the link shown – “Comfort Works”. Hope that helps, Christine!
