Time for another party and more awesome DIY inspiration! Thank you so so much for taking the time to link up each week! Visiting you motivates me! And I hope the same holds true for DIYShowOff readers!
Weekly Recap: We’d love to know your thoughts, invite you to check out these posts and perhaps even pin for later (hint hint). 😉
An old pile of bricks becomes a beautiful recycled brick walkway and patio. This took Mr. DIY all summer long but well worth the hard work, wouldn’t you say?

and a grape arbor/gazebo reveal!
Life: This week might be light with the blog posts, if any. Thank YOU for being here! If you’ve been following on social media, you know that my younger sister is battling breast cancer. Her surgery is scheduled for Tuesday. I’ll be focusing all of my attention on her this week. But please stop back throughout the week since I’ll be checking in on my down time and pinning your projects while she rests. DIY friends, meet my beautiful sister, Bobbi:
She rocks bald, doesn’t she? Beautiful. Inside and out. And she jokes that her head is round because I was first born. lol Nice. But I do love her sense or humor. And as she undergoes surgery to remove the attempted-murderers, we’re looking forward to meeting the new ‘twins’ in a couple of months, but I’m most grateful for the opportunity to have my little sister and best friend in my life for many, many more years.
If you’re local and would like to attend the awesome benefit her friends have planned (Texas hold ’em, spaghetti dinner, Chinese auction of baskets/donations, raffles, bake sale…so fun!), shoot me an email for the details. Your thoughts and prayers are so appreciated! It’s been a tough road and she still has a lot to go through but she’s trying to maintain her fun positive spirit. Especially for this little guy…
We’ve been more aware of breast cancer than ever before at DIYShowOff. My mom is doing well one year post-lumpectomy and radiation. When you see ways to support breast cancer research since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, join me in being supportive. Even small ways make a big difference. Early detection in both my mom and sister will hopefully play a huge part in their survival rates. So please, please, please remember to schedule your routine mammograms and monthly self breast exams.
I’ve submitted a video nomination for Bobbi to the Mohawk Survivor Video Spotlight and thought you may want to share or nominate someone too (hurry – entering ends today). I’ll keep you posted when the voting begins (would love your help). https://www.

Hi Roeshel,
Sending prayers to your sis and your family. I’m a 9-year breast cancer survivor myself, diagnosed at 34 years old with an aggressive cancer. I added a BC awareness printable (#98) I thought was fitting for today’s post. My 2-part BC story is on my blog if you would like to read it, just didn’t feel it was appropriate to link to a DIY party. 😉
((((Hugs))))

My heart and prayers are with you, you sister and the family. God bless you all with healing, love and joy. I have a niece in her 20,s going through the exact same thing. Just finished her pre-op chemo to prepare to the double do away. We are all sporting Team Amber shirts. I also have a sister in end stage CA that is in her chest, lymph system, brain, hips and spine. You are right in that CA is a murderous thing.
Your sister is gorgeous bald! My thoughts are with her and her sweet baby.
Thank you so much for hosting your party. Don’t worry about all of us – be with your sister. We’ll still be here when you’re ready to come back. My sil is a long term survivor of a very aggressive form of breast cancer, so I know a little of what you must be feeling. My prayers for your sister’s full recovery!
Wishing you guys all the best. I hope she gets healthy and fit asap. Thanks for hosting the party at this point. xo
You and Bobbi are both very beautiful. She absolutely rocks bald.
Wishing Bobbi a successful surgery!
Prayers for your sister! Thanks for hosting the linky party.

What a beautiful picture of you and your sister, she is a fighter, God bless you guys! Thank you for a great party – xo
Sending my best thoughts for your sis. She looks beautiful inside and out! I’m an 18 year survivor – one year of chemo, double mastectomy and radiation and going strong. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks so much, Debbie! And it’s so encouraging to hear that you’re doing so well! xoxo
