This birthday feels a little different than most. Today I’m sitting with my laptop, a bottle of water nearby, reflecting on how much life can change in a year. Some seasons stretch us in ways we never expected. But they also remind us what really matters. Today, I’m reminded of my passion for creating, healthy habits, home, and the simple joy of making a space feel not just beautiful but tranquil, comfortable, safe, healing.
A Season of Change
Life has shifted in ways I never expected and this past year has been one of growth, change, and learning to how to begin again. But if there’s one thing that has always grounded me through every season, it’s creating a home that feels peaceful, welcoming, and personal. Life changed. But my creativity hasn’t. I’m still here. I’m still creating.
The past several months have been one of the hardest seasons of my life. Like many, I’ve been navigating change, learning a lot about resilience, and figuring out what the next chapter should look like. A lot has changed behind the scenes, and like many of you know, life sometimes asks us to pause, regroup, and figure out what the next chapter looks like. I’ve always associated “change in seasons” with the calendar, the weather. But this year, there’s a change in seasons that applies to my life.
Why Home Still Matters
One thing that has remained constant through it all is my love for creating a home that feels like a safe haven, inviting, meaningful. That love is what started DIYShowOff so many years ago. It started as a place to share projects, ideas, and inspiration but over time, it became something more. It became a community. DIYShowOff is my voice, my creativity. It’s connection.
Over the years, this blog has been more than a place to share DIY, more than projects and decorating ideas. It’s been a creative outlet, a journal of sorts, and a community of people who simply love that same thing.
Lately I’ve felt the pull to come back to that. The desire to refresh spaces, try new ideas, and to share the process along the way. To the joy of creating to make everyday life a little more beautiful, a little more comfortable. And most importantly to reconnect with the things that bring joy and inspiration to everyday spaces. So this season feels like a fresh start. A return to creativity, simple projects, cozy spaces, and the kind of inspiration that helps us all love where we live. So this feels like the right time to breathe a little new life into DIYShowOff.
What’s Ahead
In the coming months you’ll start to see a mix of things here again: home projects, decorating ideas, small updates around my home, the journey of a new beginning, and a few behind-the-scenes glimpses of the design work I’ve been doing through Style Thyme.
If you’ve been here for years (maybe even more than a decade!), thank you for sticking around. Welcome back! If you’re new here, welcome. I’m really glad you’re here. I look forward to getting to know you better.
I’d love to hear from you! What’s something in your home or life that feels like a fresh start right now?

I am so glad to see you back here. There are moments, and seasons, in our lives that forever change us—they change not only our day-to-day lives but forever alter who we are at the deepest level.
I understand completely. Although my circumstances may be different than yours my journey is the same. I am a different person than I was when I first started blogging. My life changed, my vision for the future changed, and, lastly, my expectations of what life was going to be changed.
You got this, girlie! Looking forward to whatever you bring here. Love to you- Diana
Diana, your words truly touched me. You’re so right. Life has a way of reshaping us in ways we never anticipate, and sometimes those changes are the ones that help us grow into the people we were meant to become. I love hearing that your journey mirrors mine in that way, even if the specifics are different. Thank you for your encouragement and support. It means the world. I’m so excited to share this next chapter here with you. Sending love right back to you!
