Earlier this week I shared the anniversary of the journey to a healthier me and this week, a few friends gathered with me to celebrate with a happy hour/make & take and I wanted to share a few of the highlights…
“Being a person is getting too complicated. Time to be a unicorn.”
The DIY Make & Take:
Magic Unicorn Blend
What we used: (some affiliate links below)
- 10 ml glass bottles
- fractionated coconut oil or Young Living’s V-6
- Bergamot essential oil
- Joy essential oil blend
- Grapefruit essential oil
- embellishments optional: stickers, decorative tape, ribbon (I found my unicorn themed stickers and decorative tape at Michaels Stores).
*Note: I only recommend Young Living essential oils. See below for more info.
What we did:
Add 10 drops of each essential oil (Joy, Bergamot, Grapefruit) to the roller bottle, top off with carrier oil (fractionated coconut oil, V6 or carrier oil of your choice). Secure the rollerball fitment and lid. It has a pretty perfume-y smell with an uplifting scent. WARNING: Citrus essential oils are photosensitive. Do not apply if you’ll be out in the sun or apply topically where the sun don’t shine!
More Details& Ideas
Bergamot//Bergamot’s aroma is tart yet sweet and uplifting yet relaxing.
Grapefruit//sweet, invigorating aroma that members enjoy for its ability to encourage feelings of joy, satisfaction, and playfulness.
Joy//invites a sense of romance, bliss, and warmth when diffused. When worn as a fragrance, it invites togetherness.
Light (essential oil infused) refreshments included: Beverages consisted of guest’s choice of Ice water bar with citrus Vitality essential oils (use glass or stainless steel containers), Sangria, Pink Moscato.
Fresh fruits in rainbow colors and fruit dip. Fruit dip: 1 large container of greek yogurt, 8 oz. cream cheese, a splash of vanilla extract, sweetener to taste, lemon Vitality essential oil. I blended ingredients with my hand mixer and refrigerated until served.
Sweet Potato/Beet Chips (2 bags) with dip. Dip: No photo…oops! But SO good! I hand mixed 8 oz. sour cream, 3/4 cup of avocado mayo, onion powder/garlic powder to taste, sea salt to taste, fresh dill and about 5-7 drops of dill Vitality essential oil. Yum!
Party Favors: You can’t see them around the water bottle in the photo below but these are perfect for applying essential oil and wearing as a hair accessory or bracelet. Get them here and you’ll have lots left over for welcome gifts, incentives, etc. —>{elastic knotted hair elastics}

I have heard so much about essential oils, but have not purchased any beyond a “magical” combination of them for night time moisturizing…and I do love that! This past week, the best moment was knowing that I had the summer off from working! I am a substitute teacher and the chances of working the last 3 days next week are slim. Freedom is at my fingertips!
You’ll LOVE essential oils, Kathy! LOL – freedom! Let the countdown begin! xo
My happy moment this week was one night while sitting enjoying the aroma of grapefruit, my Grandson called to tell me he missed me. Hearing his sweet little voice and already feeling happy, put me over the edge!!!

I think I need to make the unicorn blend, it sounds delightful!! I’ve been diffusing Lemon and Lime, it puts me in a Margarita state of mind, LOL!

That was one of my highlights this week for sure! Surrounded by best friends! So glad you were there! xo
Thanks for sharing, Roeshel! I’m definitely making this blend – it looks amazing! 🙂 My happy moment today was that it is my husband’s birthday! We spent the day with family, and most of the afternoon and evening without power (thank you thunderstorms!), so we had to be creative to keep the kids entertained. It wasn’t the day we had planned, but it was a great one (and memorable!) nonetheless. 🙂
Hi Lori! Happy birthday to your hubby! And those unplanned out of the blue spontaneous days make the best memories!
My happy moment this week was finding out our grandson was chosen to write and give the opening prayer at next weeks 8th Grade Showcase. He’s also going to play a french horn solo!

I haven’t really done much with essential oils. You recipe sounds like something I need to try…. I mean, who doesn’t want to be a unicorn:). As for my happy moment this week, it would have to be starting our summer off right by swimming in the pool together as a family. The sound of my two kids laughing and playing in the water fills my heart with joy!
Sounds like a day happy memories are made of, Jennifer!
