Is there anything more heart-wrenching than a hurting friend? Having a tough time of it, having the worst day, feeling under the weather, feelings of loss and grief, or receiving bad news happens to everyone at some point and it’s during that time that we need a friend’s comfort, encouraging words and warm embrace. My first response is to turn to the power of prayer. Often times, a thoughtful gift, a hand-written note or kind gesture also helps to provide comfort. Have you heard the saying “there’s an oil for that?” Make up a little essential oil love to assist with re-establishing a positive energy flow throughout the body, helping relax and calm one’s thoughts.
I put together this homemade hug essential oil blend with intentions of love, encouragement and support for when words alone aren’t soothing enough to comfort a broken heart.
HomeMade Hug Essential Oil Blend
Ingredients: (some affiliate links)
- Essential oils: I recommend the following Young Living essential oils: Release, Frankincense, Peace & Calming II, Valor, Joy and Orange. But you can alter the recipe depending on your own essential oil supply.
- Carrier oil (grape seed, fractionated coconut, V-6, almond oil, etc.)
- tiny pinch of epsom salt
- glass roller bottle
DIY: Simply add 2 drops of each essential oil to the roller bottle. Top off with carrier oil. Add a pinch of epsom salt. Assemble roller ball top and lid. Shake.
Use: apply over heart or to insides of wrists or unscrew the cap and inhale deeply.

I only use young living essential oils in my products because they can be ingested and are safe and pure, I love your recipes with them. Made everyone xmas gifts using them this year.
Are your graphics free to download and use. I especially love the Essential Oils Fall Make & Take Invitation. 🙂
