It’s that time of year…winter takes it’s toll on my skin. But, a few times a week you can find me making up some DIY recipe using my essential oils and I love sharing them here for future reference too. This is a recipe I use for mild exfoliation and skin moisturizing. It’s a sweet gift idea and works great for make & take classes.
What I use: (some affiliate links)
- granulated sugar (organic if you have it)
- grapeseed oil (almond or fractionated coconut works too)
- lavender essential oil (I only use and recommend Young Living)
- ylang ylang essential oil
- these containers (for non-citrus essential oil scrubs only, Only use glass for citrus essential oil infused recipes, I like these glass jars.)
- these mini-spoons
- ribbon
- decorative fabric tape
- I use these labels (Avery #18660/print & design online)
What I do: I fill the container about 1/2-3/4 full of sugar then top it with the grapeseed oil (carrier oil) until the surface of the sugar is covered. Add 2 drops of lavender essential oil and 2 drops of ylang ylang essential oil and stir. I like to leave room to add more sugar if needed and to stir with each use. It makes just the right amount for a gift/sample. Embellish with decorative tape, label, ribbon and mini-spoon.
Adorable, right?
Perfect for occasional dry winter skin and smells SO good too!!!
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) has a scent that’s a wonderful blend of fresh, floral, clean, and calm. It’s this dynamic aroma that has made the flower a classic for perfumes, soaps, fresheners, and beauty products. Lavender oil is a great beginner oil and a must for every home. It’s also highly versatile. From skin care products to relaxing routines, this oil can infuse many areas of your life.
Ylang Ylang essential oil has a rich, pleasing, and romantic floral scent. Diffuse this calming, relaxing and soothing fragrance or massage into the scalp to increase the appearance of healthy, shiny hair.
