Summer is my favorite season of all but no one is a big fan of super hot heat and humidity. Especially when we’re working on DIY projects outdoors. Peppermint Vitality essential oil added to a glass of ice water is super refreshing!
And this DIY spray is amazing, helping to cool us down while we were cleaning the junk of our barn…it was HOT!
Whip up a quick and easy batch of cooling mist. We apply to the back of the neck for a quick cool down! AVOID EYES!
What you’ll need:
- 2 oz. spray bottle
- peppermint essential oil
- 2 oz. of distilled water
Directions: Add 4-5 drops of peppermint essential oil to a 2 oz. spray bottle. Top off with water. Shake and spray. Avoid eyes! And yes, this works for a breath-freshener too! 😉
Store in the fridge for extra cooling! Enjoy!

Thanks for the tip. I had never heard of that before and will sure give it a try. Being from Miami, land of hot and humid I hope to get the same results and cool down a little during what has been a very very summer. Power to Peppermint!!!
Hi Alyson! I’m so glad you stopped by! Let me know if you have any questions. Miami! I can’t imagine what August is like for you but since I’m in western PA, it’s easy for me to say I’d deal with August in Miami if I didn’t have to deal with Dec-Mar here! lol I hope that you find some relief from the heat and humidity. Good luck!
This would be great in the heat here in Phoenix. I will have to try it. Thank you for sharing and hosting That DIY Party!
