Hey friends! I hope you don’t mind a little proud grandma bragging every now and then because I can’t resist the temptation. It’s going to happen. He’s just so perfect! Babies are such a blessing! I had no idea being a grandma would be the best.thing.ever! I’d like to officially introduce you to Aaro:
(birth announcement inspiration source)
Mom and baby are doing well. My little girl is all grown up. ::insert group hug:: Babies are so precious, aren’t they?! I’m hoping he gets to spend a lot of quality time with grandma. Aaro was born with a birth defect known as bilateral congenital talipes equinovarus. That sounds scarier than it is. It’s the official medical term for club foot in both feet. A lot of doctor visits, lots of casting, special shoes, a brace/bar, maybe a surgery but something very treatable/fixable. Ali (mommy) and I may be creating a little blog to document the treatment process in an effort to help other families facing the same journey along with his progress.
In the meantime, I see lots of baby-related DIY (i.e. spoiling) in my near future…if I can put him down. 😉
I remember when my son was born with a host of preemie problems. Living in Germany, far from home I felt so alone. But one kind neighbor said to me “God gives special babies to very special people.” Congratulations! He’s beautiful.
Congratulations again on the birth of your adorable grandson!
Congratulations Roeshel – how exciting! I think your idea of starting a blog about Aaro’s the treatment process is such a great idea. Enjoy spoiling your little grandson during the holidays. My first grandchild (found out it’s a boy) is due the first week in April and I can’t wait.
Babies are the best! And you have to be proud of them. They are Grandparents’ little treasures. My grandson is a 18 mos and I still ca not get enough! Blessings to you and your family.
Oh my goodness! He is simply adorable. Congrats!
Congratulations on your newest family member, he is very cute!!! You are going to love being a grandma!!! I love the banner its darling.
Enjoy your day!!!
Such cuteness! I love the birth announcement! I don’t particularly care for the advertisement banners that pop up and cover the photos and then minimize to cover the bottom quarter of the photo.
Congratulations to your family on little Aaro’s birth. He’s adorable! And so good to hear that his feet are very fixable. Enjoy being a grandma. I wish you and your family all the love and happiness possible with this new little bundle of joy.
Congratulations to all of you! Aaro is such a cutie. Our middle kid was born in Germany with one club foot over 22 years ago. The frequency of new casts will get less once he is older. Dennis got a half-cast when he was 4 month old so physical therapy could be started to build up the muscles in the leg again. Looking back having a therapist that was specialized in babies for this kind of birth defect was the key for us (that and trusting our own judgement), she was the main reason that he never needed surgery for it to extend the tendon in his heel. Looking at his leg now you would never know he was born with a club foot.
Sending lots of good wishes from Canada,
Sue
Congratulations! Do you think your daughter could call one of my sons (I have 3) and tell them how wonderful it is to have a child. I WANT a grandchild. I am so happy you have one!
oh, i am so thrilled for you and for Ali. what a beautiful moment and time in your life. enjoy every second! shower us with pictures of precious Aaro.
My oldest son was born with only one club foot. We went weekly for one year and had him casted. At 11 months, our Dr let us know that he was no longer a casting candidate. He had a unilateral amputation and several months later was fit with a below knee prosthesis. That was 30 yrs ago!! My “baby” is now the father of four healthy children and says he wouldn’t trade his story for anything. Many blessings for your family and I would love to follow your new blog and Aaro’s story.
Cute announcement How precious! You are blessed. Congratulations XO
Oh my goodness, he is so adorable! Those eyes are killing me. Such a handsome little guy! You have a right to be a proud grandma!
Congratulations Grandma! He’s adorable and you are going to have the time of your life spoiling him.
Awww Roeshel he is adorable!! So happy for you and your family!
Congratulations! I love being Nana to my three beautiful granddaughters (3, 1, 6 mos)…I agree with you. It is the best.thing.ever! You are in for some fantastic times! 🙂
Congratulations! I know you’re ecstatic. I am looking forward to having grandchildren someday! I’ll pray that everything goes well with the treatment on Aaro’s feet. It will be wonderful for you to help others by documenting your experience.
He is so precious. and perfect. and handsome.
I see lots of spoiling and extra sweet memories being made this Christmas and many years to come!
I think documenting that is a wonderful idea, nothing like sharing information and your journey to help someone else along. Knowing someone else made it through something scary or difficult, can be so helpful and encouraging. Love to all and blessings for little Aaro!
Congrats on your new grandson.. which you don’t look old enough to have.. Enjoy..!! We are about to have a granddaughter any day now. I’m so excited..
Congratulations Grandma, he’s beautiful!
Congratulations on becoming a grandmother. I have to say I love the fact you used the word grandmother. It seems as if our world is being more preoccupied with that word making them feel old as oppose to the richness and blessings that’s link to it. What a handsome little boy.
I’m so excited for you, Roeshel! Congrats to mama and grandmama! I know it’ll be an interesting journey with his little feet, but I’m thankful it’s able to be fixed. Look at him, he is going places no matter what! XO!
Oh my gosh! Aaro is soooo precious. I LOVE what Laura said above about “special babies” 🙂
Enjoy every moment because as a mother, you KNOW how fast they grow up! Someday I hope to have human grandchildren. (Mops to two dogs as of now)
Congrats to everyone!
