I love spring and we have been having some ah-mazing nearly summer-like weather with lots of sunshine and warmer-than-usual temps. Nothing lifts my spirits more than open windows, fresh air and no snow. It’s motivation to do-it-yourself (that’s a verb, right?) something pretty, colorful and fun. A spring mantel:
My dining room is still actually piled with furniture and accents from the family room makeover but I’ve pushed that all aside in order to decorate my mantel for spring. A girl has priorities! 😉 Must have a pretty spot in the midst of construction. It’s a nice break from patching walls, sanding, cleaning up the dust, taping and painting. Ugh. Just typing that is exhausting.
You can see my tutorial for “L-O-V-E” art using Styrofoam sheets, craft paper, ribbon and hot glue at the DIY Club.
This spring mantel vignette makes me happy. (Just don’t look at the rest of the house.)
Cheerful!
I’m joining the Spring Fling {Mantel edition} at The Lettered Cottage today. How about you?

I almost quit reading after your first sentence….considering we are supposed to get more snow this week. LOL.
I joined the party as well. I love seeing how many different interpretations there are of spring on people’s mantels. Such a variety.
