Remember when I couldn’t decide on what to do with this room {history here}? Well, moving two chairs and a small table into that space (shopping from around the house) and testing an extra dining area seems to be working well…

We were both a little under-the-weather on Valentine’s Day and opted for a quiet dinner at home. Spicy chicken fiesta soup was on the menu (good for clearing up sinuses) and a reservation at Chez Roeshel with a private table with a barn view during a steady snowfall was romantic…
I don’t know what it is about small cozy areas. I love when this room is a comfortable reading nook but having a little area to dine with a view just felt so special, like creating a fort or having a picnic in the living room.
Looks like the extra dining off the dining room is going to stick around for a while. At least until I change my mind again…tomorrow. 🙂
Enjoy the day! We’re off to a Japanese/Chinese restaurant and the cinema. We’re still going back and forth on the movie selection. Girls: romance/drama. Boys: action. What do you recommend?
What a cute little spot to have a meal! I love those curtains- and the pillow, well shucks.. I pretty much love everything on your blog!
Have fun at the movies!

I just love that little space and all e ways you have utilized it. What a fun little “problem” to have!
The light coming in makes that room look so cozy and special. I can see how a romantic dinner would be perfect!
Love it! Will you share your soup recipe?
Terry – I think there are a lot of recipes online but here’s mine:
In a little oil, I saute chicken, onion and green pepper until chicken is cooked through and let cool a little.
Heat chicken broth (1 large can) and 1 jar of Pace picante sauce (I use medium spicy). Shred chicken and add cooked chicken/onion/pepper to broth/salsa mixture. Heat.
I serve with sliced (raw) avocados, shredded cheese and warm bread (sometimes with Goldfish crackers). 🙂 Super easy and so good!
