Not an Empty Room

Meet:  Misty ~ “We live in a 214-year-old house that belonged to my husband’s grandmother. We try our best to retain all of the unique characteristics of our home while updating and making it ours. It’s a lot of work (restoration, rewiring) and a lot of fun!”

Awesome DIY Projects:
Outdated bathroom gets a pretty modern farmhouse style makeover! I love the new distressed black vanity and mirrors, pretty window (with a beautiful view) and the awesome barn door!
Complete demo, gut and rebuild…(brave!)
(Makes me wish we’d finally get our dining room track up so I can share. LOVE sliding doors.)  This bathroom barn door adds a farmhouse charm to her old house.
Great idea for kids’ art work too!
There’s more to see!  Pop over to say “Hi” to Misty and check out their great DIY projects! If you’re like me, Misty had you at 214-years-old.  I love the history, the many corner fireplaces, the beautiful floors, dutch door…I could go on and on. 🙂

Thanks Misty (and Charles) for sharing!  Your dedication and hard work is paying off – you’re putting new life into that old home and I love the transformation!  Great job!

Love Your Room

Shoshana from Love Your Room has some amazing talent. She’s an interior designer and has been featured at HGTV and Houzz.com. Let me show you why that is! She can be inspired by a pizza box and make her home office look like this:

What?!  Yep.  Huge pizza box = large stencil.  Gorgeous, isn’t it?  I love it!  You can see her full post with more pictures at Home Office Inspired by a Pizza Box (including a how-to).
She also has a Super Easy (at least her headboard tutorial makes it look easy) DIY headboard. Cost = $63!

And finally, looking for more photo wall inspiration and tips on how to make it look great?

Shoshana – LOVE YOUR ROOM!  Thank you so much for sharing your awesome, helpful tutorials!

DIY Gallery Wall

Sarah from Comfort and Joy took a completely empty apartment, an inspiration photo and recreated the look her way and on the cheap.  It looks awesome!

Here is her inspiration photo:

She talks about her gallery wall more in depth on her blog along with more fabulous DIY projects, inspiration and design boards.   It was completely DIY. She was lucky enough to get a discarded copy of Audubon’s birds of America and with a little cutting, framing and arranging, her bird wall was born.

I love taking inspiration and making it work in my own personal space.  Sarah, you did an incredible job at making your gallery wall every bit as beautiful as your inspiration.  Love it!
