What is a Silhouette Portrait?
It’s an electronic cutting tool for personal use, similar to the Cameo but on a smaller scale. It’s like a home printer and it plugs into your computer with a simple USB cable. However, instead of printing it uses a small blade to cut paper, cardstock, vinyl, fabric and more up to 8 inches wide and 10 feet long. The machine also has the ability to register and cut printed materials.

I would love one! I have so many Christmas projects with scripture and manger scenes I would love to do.
I would love a silhouette! I’ve been dreaming of beautiful labels for my glass vases and jars, creating beautiful quotes to put on my son’s walls (think that Harry Potter room that’s making the rounds on Pinterest), some spray paint art where the original painting peeks out from behind the cutouts, and then of course making signs. Many, many signs for presents for others.

I would love to win this Silhouette Portrait because my little boys and I LOVE to make greeting cards and other art projects for our family far away, place them in a beautiful package, and mail them off. We think it really brightens someone’s day when they receive a cheery package in the mail with a sweet sentiment ‘just because’. Right now, we use a lot of scrapbook paper and paper cutters, but the three of us would be OVER THE MOON if we won a Silhouette because it means we could take our ‘cheer spreading’ projects to the very next level! We live roughly 700 miles away from our family (and I’m a single mom!) so it’s a very important part of every week for us to let people know we are thinking about them in a beautiful way. I would LOVE a Sillhouette Portrait! What an awesome Christmas gift that would make (for myself!). I think I would get started with some amazing stencils! Whenever I want to stencil something I always have to cut it out by hand with an exacto knife. Having a portrait will make things a TON faster! 🙂

This would be a fantastic early christmas gift! Being new to the DIY scene, seeing so many great projects out there that require a tool such as this, and having to think of some kind of alternative…..and then just having it turn out just gross (lopsided, uneven, etc.) can really be discouraging.

I would finally be able to make a dent in my wonderful pile of pins I have been saving up! Last year when my husband was deployed in Afghanistan, I never got motivated to decorate the house, especially at Christmas, because it just didn’t feel like a home without him. Now that he is back, I plan to use the Silhouette to use our personal touch to create all of the decorations for this holiday. Our son is already excited to be able to celebrate with Daddy and help make ornaments for the tree and his own stocking.

I have SO many things I want to make. Probably paper and fabric things mostly, but I’m rally excited to put some vinyl up in my house!
I have been eyeing this machine for a while now, even before it came out. Unfortunately it’s been out of my budget. But I am a stamper and I would love to have this machine to create cards, iron on transfers for my little girls (6 & 8), be able to create vinyl letters for decorating my bare walls, fabric cut outs for a quilt, and just all around projects to make my home cozier. I’m in a rental now and since I can’t paint the walls, I’d love to go crazy with pictures and frames. 🙂

I would use my Silhouette to make Welcome Home Signs for all of the returning soldiers that are coming home from deployment that we work with. My husband is a Chaplain in the Army and we love our military families. I would also use it to decorate each new home that we move to and make them feel like a home and not just another house.
I have so many projects in mind, mostly for my classroom! I can’t wait to make bulletin board letters with this instead of cutting them out by hand…

I want to do projects with my boys!
I’ve literally wanted a Silhouette for a few years, but haven’t been in a place where I could justify such a large purchase. Winning would be a dream come true and would help me get my small business idea started….which would hopefully bring in money. If I were to win, my very first project would be quilts for my girls, made of my mother’s clothing. Mama passed away December 23, 2010, and was very close to my children. The Silhouette would come in SO HANDY for cutting that fabric into shapes for the quilt. My girls would feel sort of like they were getting a hug from Mom.

Silhouette giveaway – thanks for offering this. We have been wanting one for so long and will use to cheer people up and make things for some. Cards for those fighting illness, grieving, or those who need a word of encouragement. The possibilities are endless.
I have a new niece and three nephews! I would be customizing everything. ‘Everything?’ you say and yes, yes I do mean everything. My niece needs vinyl lettering for her wall. My 1st nephew (the oldest) needs lettering of some kind on his clothing, I don’t know how one kid misplaces so much stuff. My 2 nephew is a little artist himself so I’d probably do some easy sew hand puppets and more projects like that with him. My 3 nephew is just being potty trained and I would love to work out some fun chart for prizes to help that along and also put some of his favorite characters on his big boy underwear so he’ll maybe be more inclined to wear them. Those are the very first things I’d do lol. I know alot of first there but there would be many more to follow the Silhouette just has endless possibilities.

My oldest son is getting married this coming August…the first wedding for our family in 27 years! The bride and groom are doing a cottage/dock ceremony at the family cottage. I Love, love, love to craft. I have a different cutter but I am wishing for a Silhouette . But funds won’t allow that now. I recently had to retire from teaching so my time is spent creating for my grands and the Silhouette would be so useful!

I would absolutely love to win the silhouette portrait. I have the Silhouette SD and have a hard time justifying going up to Cameo. I bought the SD just before Cameo came out, so was a little out of luck money wise. I follow Silhouette on Pinterest and I also have a regular subscription with them on their Silhouette site. I also try to keep up with the blog. I have 3 step grandchildren that I could make VERY useful for gifting items to them and their friends!
One of the main keys to me purchasing the Silhouette was your dachshund pillow. I have a dachshund and I thought that was the cutest thing I had seen!
