We purchased our home in 2007, an old neglected farmhouse built in 1927. We have DIY projects to last us a life time. We’re enjoying making this old house our dream home. This is our journey. I edit this post as we complete projects. Lots to see! Our room reveals in the home tour are packed full of unique budget friendly DIY and thrifty treasures.

I love the idea of painting brass faucets. I have spray painted (using car primer first) door knobs – which worked, wondering if the faucets lasted?
Leeann – yes, the faucets have lasted but please know that they’re in a guest bathroom that gets little use and I clean using Lysol wipes. But it’s been a couple of years and for us, it’s been a great durable solution.
wow, what gorgeous home projects!

I must say, this is one of the best sites I have been on. I was so entertained with your design and style. You are an amazing decorator. Thanks for sharing all of your creative ideas. I hope you don’t mind, I took some and I’m going to roll with it. Thanks again.

lovely home! you are very creative…lots of great ideas!
LOVE the home tour! Such great ideas! I love seeing unique ways to use space–like the over the door book shelf in your kitchen! And I love that you found a way to incorporate a sliding ladder! I always wanted to use a library ladder somewhere and maybe there is hope for me yet. As for your antique hutch in the kitchen–I am green with envy! That thing is spectacular!
You are so talented!
Awe! Best comment of the day! Thanks so much, Kathy! xo
