Hallway before:
They took off the chair rail and baseboards…
They used beadboard paneling for the back of the bookcases…
Brian built the frame work (not even a mild injury stopped him from getting back to work).
I love this part! Amy says, “After the base went in and before he nailed it down we put in a letter to future homeowners and a copy of that days newspaper.”
Shelves up and ready to be caulked, primed and painted.
Amy lined shelves with this pretty contact paper…
All done – a little library to organize her homeschooling books.

What a great use of space and they did a great job on it! Love the way it turned out.
What a great idea for otherwise unused space! And an added bonus of extra storage. Smart idea!
What a great, great idea! It is a perfect fit for an awkward little space. Now it looks like it was planned that way, doesn't it? Perfection.
Boy! Has contact paper come a long way! Many, many years ago…when contact paper was young and new I "papered" a whole bathroom in a zebra print. Now THAT was something! But this…wow…this is an animal of a whole different kind! Love it! Diana
The shelving looks wonderful! What a great use for that space~
This is awesome and the letter being placed is pretty cool. Beautifully done.
So clever! I need to find out where she got her stool, I have been on the search for one just like it!
Thanks for sharing that one! I'm going to hop over there right now to take a closer look! 🙂
