How about a small break from the holidays today? Christy from
has an office makeover. I love looking at the organization and clutter free look. My own home is a holiday decorations and wrapping stations disaster right now. Doesn’t this look fresh and clean and awesome? I didn’t clean yesterday (shopping won out) so this is helping me get busy today. Here is her post:
This office is off the main entrance of our house but is Christopher’s office. He wanted somewhere to display his music memorabilia but in a classy way. I think we have accomplished that.
Before:
After:
The dry erase board we got at Target for $12.00; the Macbook was WAY too much money to talk about.
I got the green vase at Stein Mart for $16.00; the baskets are listed below
Here is the breakdown for the total cost of the office:
Wicker Baskets (4)- Larget (Target): $35.98
Ikea Mikael Desk: $49.99
Ikea Billy Bookcase (2): $119.98
Erslev Rug: $29.99
Walmart Striped Curtains (2): $29.84
Total: $291.76
We’re still in the process of buying more picture frames to put below the pictures on the right hand side. So you’ll notice that the pictures are kinda high on the wall.
Great job Christy! Thanks for sharing!
looks great! I love the bookcases!!
The office looks so much warmer now. I love the wood floors.
Oooh, pretty! The additions really changed the colors of the room drastically. I think if I had floors like that, I'd sleep on them. 🙂 Beautiful!
Merry Christmas!
I'm in the process of redoing my home office. Thanks for some inspiration!!
Great job Christy!
I am doing the same thing now, too! I have the desk (craigslist painted black) and a tall Target black bookcase…I also have the IKEA Ektorp sofa to put in there. What is the paint color? Love it! I will follow your lead in the baskets!

You all have made my morning! Thank you for the great comments.
Nancy-The color is Meadow Trail by Sherwin Williams. Since this is my husband's office I wanted a great masculine color for the room.
The office looks great. I seriously need to get on it and do something to mine. The old office was great, but when baby #2 came along, I got kicked out to a different room…and that is how the story ends (for now).
