Do you have certain family traditions for celebrating Easter?
Everyone in our family has a holiday they host and somehow we ended up with Easter. Each year, our Easter gathering includes a traditional Easter dinner and an Easter egg hunt…
and we always do a cheesy family photo too.
Make it the best Easter with Michaels! They have everything from eggs & baskets, to bunney décor and more!
My April Michaels’ Makers’ challenge is “Easter decor” so I decked out our mantel with an ‘egg hunt’ theme.
DIY ‘egg hunt’ banner – construct a pretty festive banner for any occasion with this tablet of pre-cut paper banner pieces, alphabet stickers and ribbon.
I also added a string of butterfly garland. Quick, lightweight, perfect!
DIY faux marbled eggs – Gather supplies: craft eggs and a marbling kit (it works for paper and fabric too! So fun!) Follow the instructions provided with the kit.
Add 1 magic powder packet (there are 8) to 8 oz. of water in the tray and stir.
Add drops of paint and swirl to create a design and color pattern.
Roll craft egg into the mixture.
Then set on rack to dry.
So pretty!
And of course I snagged all of my decorative accents to finish off the “Egg Hunt” theme at Michaels including the rustic numbered cubby shelf, wire egg basket, bunny (….for peeps’ sake! How cute is he?!),
potted cabbages (darling!) and these grass squares that clip together…perfect for ‘hiding’ eggs!
All set!

I don’t have a tradition, but love your Easter decorations!
Where did you find the butterfly used in one of your wrist corsages?
I would like to get for my son’s prom date.
Please contact me.
Thanks, Jackie
Hi Jackie! Micheals’ Craft Stores has them! Hope that helps! xo
Amazing photos *_* I Love them all!
Thanks a lot for sharing such a useful information!
As a child my mother’s limit was dying eggs with onion skins! We never had an easter egg hunt even though we had a large garden. I love to enjoy easter to the max with my own kids and will be having an easter egg hunt for sure!
This centerpiece is the lovliest thing I’ve ever seen! It is a joyful, touching interpretation of spring and Easter. The pink colors give it such a vibrant feeling and the branches are so free flowing and the bunny is just the very thing to top it off. I love this piece!
Growing up I never had anything like this. A chocolate egg if I was lucky 🙁
