Pinterest PinFest Linky Party ~ Daydreaming

It’s Pinterest PinFest time!  Did you forget?  I almost did!

This month, I’m hoping to clean out my closet and to get it ready for colder weather. Where are my warm sweaters, cute boots, cable knit tights, even my jeans?  Secret:  My wardrobe is currently all over the place:  (i.e. the laundry room, my daughter’s old room, laundry baskets, the hallway, my closet, my dresser, a little bit in the bathroom and all over our master bedroom).  I don’t know how it’s happened but I’m ready to get organized. So, I need a little closet and clothing motivation and inspiration.  Here’s my Pinterest daydream…

Once upon a time, I had a dream that I had this dressing room…everything has a place and I’d have beautiful clothes. I’d sit on my pretty ottoman and change my clothes 20 times.

My daughters and I love scouring the thrift stores for our clothes better than we like going to the mall.  Here are some warmer outfits I’d love to put together and I think I could come close if I was organized enough to find everything.

The reality:  I’m thinking of moving all of my clothing and accessories to my daughter’s old room and creating a dressing room (it’s currently a 2nd guest bedroom). It has 2 closets! It’s on the 2nd floor. It’s near the hall bathroom that I use. Don’t worry, I’d be leaving the master bedroom for Mr. DIY’s things. We really lack closet space. Old farmhouse = skinny closet and one small additional closet created by previous owners with what we call “saloon doors”.  It’s so ugly and more of a storage place than closet. I do have built in drawers and shelving though ~ and if I do a dressing room, I’d gladly surrender them to Mr. DIY’s gigantic t-shirt collection.

I‘m talking about this room (we just finished a main floor guest room) and rarely get over night guests, so this second floor guest room could serve as my dressing room without much work, don’t you think?  It’s off to a pretty start!

The more I think about it, the more it really appeals to me.  Don’t be surprised if you see future posts about it!

Now it’s your turn! Has Pinterest inspired your next project or your daydreams?
