When we installed French doors in the kitchen in place of a single door, we put up inexpensive mitered skinny trim. You can see it in the back ground here:
The original trim in this old farmhouse is wide and chunky. Here’s a picture of the pantry door in the kitchen:
Since we’re remodeling the kitchen,
We changed out the skinny door trim for a wider/matching look using Dutch Boy’s Trim & Cabinet paint (Ultra White) and a Purdy paint brush.

Now it has the same look as the rest of the original farmhouse trim.
See that automatic door closer? You can find one here: Ryobi Doorman Door Closer – found at Rockler.
Next up – framing that window and baseboard trim! I do love that the door trim now matches the rest of our old home’s character. What do you think?
See how we did it at The DIY Club.
Let’s see what you’ve been up to!

I love the look of the frame. I love those little projects that don't seem like such a big deal but make a difference.
Makes a big difference. Now the doors have a presence.
so pretty! We built a tree house for our boy this weekend and finished it late last night. It is storming something awful this morning so I cant get the finished pictures! Maybe later! ha!
Thanks for hosting!
It looks great! I am also loving the ladder in the one door way! When the previous owners started to remodel our home they replaced the old modeling with thin new modeling. It is on our long to do list to place the old chunky modeling back up!
Looks great! thanks for hosting 🙂
I don't have anything to link up this week Roeshel but I wanted to tell you that your trim looks beautiful, you matched it up so well! I just love it. 🙂
Heather

Hi Roeshel! I'm laughing because I just saw that Heather said she didn't have anything to link up but I just linked up her chandelier makeover from couple of weeks ago! LOL! Your new trim looks fantastic and I love the automatic door closer too. So cool!
Thanks for hosting another great party,
Vanessa
P.S. Something went haywire with my first attempt to link up so could you please delete #49? Thanks! 🙂

Looks great! We're in the process of replacing the trim in our master bedroom and it looks a lot like the trim you have in your house. 🙂
Oooops. Sorry I posted my link twice. They weren't showing up. Blush
Did I miss the kitchen reveal post? Cuz I am drooling over what I can see of it… that back splash is AMAZING!!!!! I thing the chunky molding looks prefect! It really makes the doors even more fabulous! I am going to somehow come and visit you so we can talk house remodeling!
