I'm so sorry! Losing a pet is just awful!

I am so, so sorry. I can only imagine your pain. At least she is no longer in pain, and you now have a little doxie angel looking over you.

~ THE RAINBOW BRIDGE ~

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

I'm so sorry for your loss. It must be especially difficult during the holiday season to love a beloved pet.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We quickly & unexpectedly lost one of our dogs to what was most likely cancer back in September & my heart still aches whenever I think of him. I'm sure you've heard of the Rainbow Bridge. . . it took me a long while after losing Bailey to go back & read it, & even though it brought on a flow of tears, it did make me feel better to think of him waiting there for me. Gosh, I'm getting teary-eyed right now even writing this! Hugs to you-I won't say that it gets "easier" over time, it just gets less hard, if that makes sense.

I'm so sorry Roeshel. I'm glad she's not in pain anymore, but I know how hard this must be for you. Take Care!

Oh, Roeshel … this is so hard, especially at the holidays. We lost a dog and a cat in 2008 and 2009, each the week before Thanksgiving. It was so hard, and I am so sorry that you're going through it now. Our prayers are with you!

No words can ever totally comfort or make it better, it's the hardest thing to loose a pet, they just don't live long enough. At least there's no more pain and she can run all day and night and have a good ol' time at the doggy park at the bridge, and she'll always be with you!

So sorry for your loss! A few typed words just doesn't seem like enough, however, my thoughts and heart go out to you.
Maybe my daughters 1 year old Dachshund, Radar, will meet Niski and help show her the way. Radar was killed by a motor vehicle just five days ago. My grand kids are devastated.

Oh..no…this breaks my heart. I'm so sorry, so very sorry.

If this happened to me…I'd go rescue one as soon as I could…so that something good could come out of this tragedy. I type this as tears run down my face.

I lost my little doggie "misha" 2 weeks ago. she was a little boston terrier.

it's such a hard part of pet ownership. I wonder sometimes why I would do that to myself ever again. I get teary thinking about other wonderful pets I have lost.

But, they were so great. And, made me so happy.

I am grieveing with you, Roeshel – allow yourself to grieve, and remember all the great lessons Niski taught you. She loved unconditionally no matter what. I learned that lesson from our dear departed lab Buster and my sweet cat of 17 years Christina.

I am so sorry. We lost our beloved Drummer dog just a month ago. He was such a loving and sweet soul and is missed.
Soon the sadness will fade and the lovely memories of your companion will be left to bring you random smiles and warm feelings throught the day.

Thank you for your email yesterday letting us know. We all cried, and our hearts go out to you. She was quite the personality-packed little fur baby, and she'll be missed.

It's so hard losing a pet. Well, pet doesn't really do justice to what animals can come to mean, does it? When something is by your side all day, every day, they can fill your world with such comfort and peace…..and then its gone.

I really sympathise with your pain. I know how it feels to lose something that you love so much. Please don't feel that you have to 'get over it' quickly. I think it can take a long time to come to terms with such a loss.

Oh, Roeshel! Those wonderful creatures worm their way into our hearts and we never ever forget them or the cold noses. We love them so dearly and it's always so incredibly painful when that family member passes. Sometimes, I admit, even more painful than when a human being passes. What a terrible time to lose a family member. They are so loved, so wonderful and yet so misunderstood. My heart aches for you as much as it does whenever anybody loses a loved one. You're in my thoughts.
