I love featuring other bloggers, but what have I been up to lately? Yes – still working on the living room (specifically waiting for Mr. DIY to help me with the fireplace), plans for a guest bedroom makeover are in the works and the dining room as well. I just ordered chairs to go with our new reclaimed barn wood table (well, it was new last fall and we’ve been using the patio chairs in the meantime…nice, huh?) and shopping!
I was this –> very <-- close to using my PB gift card for this weathered row of hooks from Pottery Barn: for hanging towels and/or accessories in one of the bathrooms. But, then I remembered something that previous owners had hanging on the wall for keys/coats that we removed and threw in the basement. You can’t see it, but it had white paint from where they painted the walls around it and the screw holes didn’t line up. (I couldn’t find it right away. I hate when that happens but it forced me to start ‘spring cleaning’ and now the basement is organized too! I didn’t find it until I was completely done!)
So, I did a little dry brush technique with left over paint and some sanding:

What do you think? Not too bad, eh? NOW I get to use my PB gift card for something else! Hurray!
I also hit the thrift store yesterday and two baggies of these wine corks for 59 cents. It’s all I found this trip but I love going there.
And, if you want to give a room a fresh new look for spring or your outdoor patio furniture, Joann’s has upholstery fabric swatches on clearance and they’re perfect for sewing quick pillow covers. I love that each side is different.

And just for fun, I’m still enjoying my birthday tulips and ready for spring more than ever!
Looks like you have been very busy! Love everything you did.
WHAT a great little find in your basement! It's a good thing you remembered that! I love it and it looks BETTER than the PB one because it was free! Your pillow idea is fun too…maybe I'll have to hit JoAnn's, but my husband already thinks I have a "pillow problem"! 😉
I love the white wash look! Fantastic!

Your hooks turned out cute and I love the corks! JoAnns is on my list for this week (guess I better hurry since it's already Thursday huh? 🙂 ) Hope you're having a good week!
That is great that you had that piece already and it looks great the way you refinished it. Love your bathroom. You are busy with many projects it sounds like.
It looks great and now you can spend your pb cash on something really fun:) I love those pillows on the trunk, such a pretty/vintagey look (wish I could sew).

That is exactly what I need in my bathroom!!! Your home is gorgeous!
It turned out so nice! I love your bathroom, those stripes are just so yummy! {the lantern is super cute too!} Glad you get to use the PB card for something fun instead of functional!
I love your projects! But here's what I'm taking away from it. Ya know the lantern that you have hanging from your peg? Yeah. That. I have a couple of lanterns that I just set on a shelf. Thanks for the inspiration to hang.one.up. Sometimes I just don't think too much. 🙂
Everything looks wonderful! Great job! It's funny that you put that rack there. That is exactly what I have been thinking of doing on the board and batten I want to put up. I just love that look with the pegs.
Wow, such great finds – including your free hook system that you found. Isn't that the greatest? I love repurposing an item – it saves money and often turns out way better than it originally was! And mygosh, I LOVE that yellow flower fabric you found – those pillows looks phenomenal!
Your wood hanger is perfect in the bathroom! That worked out! Love the pillows, too.
Looks great in the bathroom – I've been on the search for metal hooks for ours, but I love how that turned out. Thanks for the great idea!
And I was at JoAnn's yesterday – darn! Might have to stop back there later on today… 😉

Great projects! I love the shabby rack in the bathroom, don't you just love it when you can "shop" in your own home?!
I just adore the corks in the fabulous glass container! I'm looking for cool glass containers like that for my scrappy area! Love them! I wish we had a thrift store in my area!
I was just at JoAnn's! Although I must have been focused on the hunt because I missed those… I did see packs of fabric eights but I couldn't for the life of me think what to do with them!
What a great idea! Your towel rack looks great! I also love the corks in the jar.
your towel holder turned out great! and you have a clean basement and a gift card to show for it, love it!
Looking forward to your living room pictures, Im sure it will be fabulous!
