There were so many great entries and I’m a true believer that things happen for a reason. The winner truly deserved to win and I’m happy for her (the duct tape entry). Check out her entry – it’s touching and she definitely has a challenge on her hands. Congratulations Melissa!
You know my bathroom will get done one way or another. There won’t be a $5k budget but lots of DIY projects and fixes and perhaps even Santa will surprise us with a new toilet seat! lol I guess we continue to learn DIY by trial and error just like everyone else – well, except Melissa. Unless anyone else out there (DIY Network? HGTV? Lowes? Home Depot? Santa?) hears the 9 other finalists pleas for help and in that case…all DIY Show Off followers are awesome and I wish there were prizes for all of us. Now that’s a dream! lol Honestly … I’m a thankful for what I have. We’re blessed. Mr. DIY and myself will sponsor our bathroom makeover along with the other gazillion DIY projects in our farmhouse as funds and time permit. It’s real. It’s life.
Thank you to everyone who voted! It was a fun time! I feel like a winner. Support from my real life friends and family and online friends was overwhelming! I was lucky enough to meet two new amazing friends (Meleah and Aimee) who were also finalists and we’re planning an online pity party complete with violinists and maybe or maybe not alcoholic beverages to forget sharing our most embarrassing DIY disasters with the www! Just kidding – we’re all happy to have been chosen finalists and had a blast with the “dream”.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement, my dear blog friends! You’re awesome!
TGIF!
Darn't!!
Although that pity party sounds like it could end up being pretty fun too. 😉
Have a fantastic weekend, girlie. I'll put a good word in for ya' with Santa. I have those kinds of connections.
XO*T
What?!? That can't be right! I demand a re-count! 😉
Really, though….If you would have won, what would us girls have to read about on your blog?? You have too many great ideas, and corners to cut. I would be lost without my inspiration!
Love ya, girl! Merry Christmas!
OH NO Say it ain't so!!
ah shucks, sure wish you could've won. But yes things happen for a reason. That's great you made new friends…even if they are losers! LOL JK Pity party sounds awesome!!
Any reason to celebrate your new found friends.
If there is a next time let us all know! we'll bring their computers down with all the votes!!
*hugs*deb
I'm sorry to hear you didn't win, Roeshel, but it was something to make it as a finalist. I'm sure it was hard for the judges to decide. It may take a little longer, but I believe you will get it done! Getting a new toilet seat is a start! : )
Oh, I'm sorry that you weren't chosen . . but you are a WINNER to all of us!!
Hope you have a great weekend!!
Hugs,
Marsha
Major bummer! It's great that you were a finalist and I had fun voting for you. A $5k budget would have been awesome, but at least (very least) you know that you'll get your bathroom done eventually and that it will be exactly what you want.
Agghh! If I had an extra 5,000 laying around it would be yours!
<3
I'm so sorry. You are such a good sport though!
Oh I thought you were going to win for sure! Was it the pro contest winner who won?
Oh I thought you were going to win for sure! Was it the pro contest winner who won?
To be a finalist is an honor in itself! I'm glad you had fun with it. I really hope Santa can swing that new toilet seat!! I put in a call to remind him! 🙂
SHOOT-SKEE! I was reeeaallllly pulling for you to win, Roeshel. If only I had more computers at home, I could have voted on all of them every day. I'm sure your bathroom renovation will still be awesome!
If I was SUPER rich (and alreayd lived in my dream home) I would send over a crew to fix up your whole house PRONTO!… but since this is "real life" and I can't I will just send you an online ::hug::
YOu rock girl!
Bummer! That would have been so cool to watch what you put together for the $5,000.
I got my giveaway prize in the mail today and loved it! The snowman set is so cute! Thanks again for hosting the giveaway.
well, you're right, the dream was fun and exciting. You have to be in it to win it, so they say!
oh no!! i'm so sorry you didn't win, i was looking forward to seeing the renovation, on their dime!!
Dangit! I was hoping you'd win…but you are so talented & I know you will figure out a way to get it done! GL finishing the project! Oh & check out my blog for my finished MBath – maybe it'll give you some inspiration. :o)
Oh no!! I also demand a recount. I was sure you would win and we would be able to follow your room's transformation with the $5k.
Darn it. We were pulling for you! I think it was exciting just to be picked as a finalist!
Juuuuuust in case you are interested, here's a link to a few HGTV shows that are currently casting:

Not sure where you live, but they are doing a lot of casting in PA. There's definitely a few shows that fit your description. We were on an HGTV show 2 years ago– it was an AMAZING experience! It really CAN happen! Good luck…
Bummer. I voted! I think the thing was rigged. 😉
Here's your hug honey: HUGSSSS!
Oh–I knew you said you didn't think you won, in our e-mail last week but I was still hoping. I was really hoping you won. You got a lot of coverage and you know the loosers are STAR SEARCH were usually the ones to make it BIG not the winners.

Well, crud! I was also hoping you would pull it off! Well, you really got to see some amazing bloggers pulling for you and I am sure that made you feel great! I could not believe the number of votes that were coming in! I would love to know the final numbers. I think I will go look and see. Have a great day!!
Sorry to hear that you didn't win! You will make it look awesome in the long run!
I forgot to mention that I am featuring your painted floor at somedaycrafts.blogspot.com
Bad luck, sorry you didn't win. Perhaps being forced to take a bit more time with your project will mean you have more fabulous ideas which otherwise would never have been included…
At any rate, I'm impressed you were so gracious in your choice of words with this posting.
ROFL!!!! I love the post. I knew our family had no chance but it was so cool to make it to the finals. You're right, I too need something to dull the shame and embarrassment of showing my horrible DIY disaster. I think I'll go start my van and sit by the tailpipe. hehehe.
