Hello DIY friends! Let’s talk bathroom makeovers! Do you have an embarrassment of a bathroom? Outdated? Blah? Boring? Frightening? I know the feeling. Read on, my friend. You just may find yourself in a position to give your bathroom a serious facelift thanks to Virtu USA!
There are two bathrooms upstairs in our home. The master bathroom is the smaller of the two (remember, old farmhouse = bathrooms were not a part of the original house plans) and the bathroom I’m about to show you. One for my hubby (the master) and one for me (this one). I know you’re going to be envious that I have had this gem all to myself for a couple of years. Labeled the “girls’ bathroom”, welcome to my own little private oasis… Gag! Because no one sees the upstairs main bath except those who live here, it hasn’t been at the top of the DIY priority list in the 7 years since we moved in. It was functional and clean even if it was super ugly and outdated. Sort of a hurry up, shower, brush your teeth, throw on some makeup and get the heck out of this room! But a less desirable (to put it nicely) “before” makes for a magical “after”. This girl has a happy ending for sure! When the opportunity to work with Virtu USA came up, it was just the motivation I needed to finally FINALLY rip out the old cheap doorless vanity (will have a new life as storage in the barn). The old medicine cabinet with Hollywood dressing room lights (that’s what those lined up round bulbs remind me of) became a roadside treasure for someone who must have needed it. My heart didn’t break as we tossed the old peeling up vinyl and I think the bathroom cried tears of happiness when I painted those poor sad walls.Tiling the tub and shower surround will have to wait until later this year but that didn’t keep me from putting some blood, sweat, tears and lots of DIY and love into turning my bathroom into a beautiful new peaceful place just for me. There are a couple of things that really make this an OMGosh! reveal. You probably couldn’t help but notice that gorgeous 48 inch Huntshire vanity topped with beautiful Italian Carrara marble…and the Talia faucet…I was immediately drawn to what the Huntshire description calls “straight lines and strong features”. I love the square basin with the traditional beauty, not to mention the size and storage (drawers and doors have soft closing hinges and slides!)…a place for everything and a big bold statement that this bathroom is finally not only truly functional but stunning as well!
More photos:I know you’re drooling over that lighting too, right? They’re the Monroe Polished Nickel Adjustable Wall Lights from LampsPlus.

Wow! Stunning bathroom. I love the vanity you chose. Really crazy about the light fixtures. Shelves are perfectly placed. Beautiful clean lines. Loved it.
Beautiful transformation! I love it! Where are the light fixtures from? They are gorgeous! Great job!
Roeshel, this is gorgeous!!! And the before, sorry but truly hideous. I didn’t think anyone had a master bathroom as ugly as ours, but you win! Love the vanity you picked out and am pinning it for my future reference.
Wow, what a transformation…looking forward to seeing where you purchased those lights…love them! Great job!
WOW! It’s really gorgeous.
Looks so good. I love the lights. Ours is super builder grade… while clean and new its blahhhh… we are slowly working on it. Cant wait to tile the shower its currently that plastic insert thing tacky! Although my less than love for cleaning bathroom like that theres no mold in grout lines lol… have you ever had any experience with having free standing tubs put in.. im.wondering if if that means breaking up the slab to move the drain? Love your bathroom so much
That’s GORGEOUS! It’s amazing what you can do with a space. It’s so bright and happy 🙂
Wow! It looks amazing! The bathrooms in our old home DEFF need some work! Haha. Great post!
WOW!! It is gorgeous!! So excited for you. We just updated an old bathroom too (still adding the finishing touches) so I know how good it feels to get rid of the old yucky stuff, especially flooring. I love what you did and I love that lucite/acrylic stool.

Holy revamp! Your bathroom did a 360 and looks amazing!!! Love the added shelving, mirror, and vanity! It’s all spectacular!
Congrats! I am IN LOVE with your new bathroom vanity! The only good thing about it not being my vanity is if it were mine, I’d spend too much time in the bathroom!! 😉
So, so beautiful! Love how it came out! x
Your bathroom is gorgeous! I love everything about it and can’t believe the transformation!
WOW! This is beautiful! Can’t wait to get the details and sources. This is one of my favorite bath renos ever.
This is such a dramatic makeover Roeshel. You constantly amaze me with your level of talent!! I thought that pantry was my favorite but the new bathroom might be in the running for all time favorite now 😉 I’m a sucker for marble. Gorgeous!!!!!!!!!
Hi Roeshel! WOW, I can’t believe what a transformation that is. If the pictures weren’t right after each other, there is NO WAY I would think it was the same room. What a beautiful bathroom you have created and I do love those lights too.:)
So beautiful Roshel! Love the lighting, the vanity, the wall color, all of it. Serene and pretty!
Oh, it gives this girl that has an ugly bathroom (and the only one in her tiny cottage) so much hope to have a beautiful one like yours someday! That vanity is really beautiful!
Oh my gosh! Wow, so pretty!
OMG! It doesn’t even look like the same space — it is BEAUTIFUL!!!
What a difference! I love the look of marble in the bathroom, but I’ve always been afraid to do it. I hope you post back in a month or two and tell more about living with it day to day.

It’s exquisite! I love when DIY makeovers include a before and after. The bathroom fits right in with your farmhouse style but gives it a modern edge. Simply divine!

Thank you,
Anne

I am curious about the towel hooks, are they sturdy/hold the weight of a few towels even when a bit wet? Love the whole look of the bathroom, you did a fabulous job!
Thanks, Jenni! Yes, they’re very sturdy. Since I couldn’t screw into the studs, each towel rack is held by two wall anchors and screws.
Wow you nailed this one. I am obsessed with those light fixtures! Glamorous and still industrial. Beautiful. Your lucky my bathrooms are all construction zones. : (
this is all sooo lovely, but maybe way out of many people’s budget….
Amazing job! I love the lighting and the clear stool in the corner. What a transformation!
I love absolutely everything about this bathroom. Impeccable. What a great inspiration!
Its really wonderful and amazing.
Stunning!!! Would love to know where you purchased the mirror?
Hy Kysha! There’s a source list here: https://diyshowoff.com/2014/02/03/bathroom-makeover-2/ with a direct link to it. It’s from Pottery Barn. Hope that helps! And THANK YOU SO MUCH! xo

Your bathroom remodel is so amazing. I like to recommend marble and classic clean looks like you chose because I believe they will stand the test of time. You can always add color with towels and decor, but your choice of colors in the hardware and flooring make the room look last a long, long time!

Hi Kelly! The mirror is from Pottery Barn. Hope that helps! xo
Could you tell me where you got your acrylic stool in the bathroom?? I can not find it on the link provided for sources.
Thanks
Hi Jen, yea, it looks like it’s no longer available there. Here is a link to another: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BNZ63NO/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00BNZ63NO&linkCode=as2&tag=th061-20&linkId=OEV3WDTL4BPGMEI5

Amazing after! We went into contract today for an 80’s beauty! I can’t wait to get started updating her 😉
Could you tell me what the dimensions of your bathroom is? The before looks similar to our guest bath we want to remodel and I’m looking for layout ideas. Thanks!
So sorry for the delay, Amy! I’m just seeing this now. The floor space (not including where the tub sits) is approx. 4 x 8. 🙂
I love the dark vanity with marbled top. Am wanting this style for my bathroom redo. Where can I find this vanity or something very similar?
Thank you.
Hi Cheryll, It’s from Virtu USA. I think their website has a store locator. Hope that helps! Good luck!
Amazing transformation! The shelves give it a LOT of character!
Where did you find the mirror? Love it.

The counter tops are beautiful! Great choice. I find it hard to match the counters with the floors without matching, if that makes sense. But you definitely pulled it off!
Our bathrooms are set up the exact same I haven’t seen another like that. What is the length of your wall that the vanity is on? I would love to go 42-48” but thought it would be too close to the toilet?
Hi Joette. I’m not sure but I’ll reply with measurements within the next day. 🙂
