I got this letter from Ashli:
I wanted to share our recent renovation with you. I started a blog www.maillardvillemanor.com
We had a very ugly powder room, about 3 steps from our dinning room ewwww. . .
what we needed was a computer and craft room.
what we needed was a computer and craft room.
We took out the pedestal sink and toilet. My husband capped off the plumbing, we didn’t want to remove it, for resale purposes, and we installed some ikea kitchen cabinetry.
The bottom corner piece is an ikea upper cabinet. The other lower cabinets are scrapbook storage boxes from Michaels Craft Store.
The counter top is a wood one from ikea. We cut it to size using a table saw and a jig saw. The upper cabinets are ikea uppers and in between them we use simple ikea shelves and baskets bought from ikea also.
We installed some key hooks to keep our spare keys organized.
Are you as excited to see it as I am? Here it is!

Ashli -holy cow! You guys did a fantastic job! What an awesome office/craft area and I love that you didn’t permanently remove the possible back-to-the original bathroom function for the future. Genius. I love how organized and pretty everything is! You have an awesome space to get creative with everything you need in it’s place and at your fingertips. Thank you so much for sharing!

With deck hidden fasteners you have no more worries about stubbed toes during your 4th of July deck celebration.
What a great transformation! Everything is so organized. Very smart to cap the plumbing so it can be restored if/when necessary.
Fantastic job!

Looks great. I love the idea of using the craft cabinets and putting a counter top over them.

I need that little room! I never would have thought to re-purpose a powder room, somehow a sink and toilet seem immovable. Thanks for spotlighting another great one, Roeshel!
