It’s that time of the week again! I can’t wait to get a dose of autumn inspiration! Here are my fall-related projects this past week.
I know it’s a little early, but I couldn’t help making a little Halloween vignette with my nevermore tree. I don’t usually decorate for Halloween, but this 1 spot is just the right amount for me (other than the barn patio – for a Halloween party!).
Fall also means the start of the football season! Want to know a secret about me? I’m not a football fan (except by geographical birth since I was born & raised in Steeler Country and by marriage since my husband is a die-hard fan). I don’t understand the plays and only watch the Super Bowl for the commercials. I do get caught up in the excitement though. (Not only did I hear the shouting from the living room this afternoon, I also got a rundown on how many missed opportunities there were in today’s game. lol) My sister is a fan and she has had some back surgeries. So, I made her a travel lumbar pillow and tote bag this week. No tutorial. I just measured, cut, ironed and sewed without a pattern. I’m linking to
Here you can get an idea of the size. (Pardon my lack of “evening gown” for modeling..lol.)
This isn’t fall related but I love Met Monday! Head over to see the transformations and you’ll be hooked too!

Edited to add (because you know I can’t pass up a good blog party and I found these this weekend). I got these at a thrift shop for our family room (another DIYproject on the looooong list). $12.99 = 1 desk + 1 chair!
Hurray – great deal so I bought them both!

What is the Fall Festival?
- A blog party on Mondays during the autumn season
- Autumn/Fall inspired DIY projects
How can I join?
- Create a blog post about an Autumn/Fall project that you’ve done
- Add your blog name and project to Mcklinky (example: The DIY Show off – House # Pumpkins)
- Type in the permalink address, not your basic blog address. A permalink is the address that links directly to your specific post. (example: http://thediyshowoff.blogspot.com/2009/08/house-number-pumpkins)
- You must use The DIY Show Off Fall Festival button and link back to The DIY Show Off Fall Festival post so that everyone gets to join in the fun. Here is the button:
- This week’s link to cut/paste is: http://thediyshowoff.blogspot.com/2009/09/fall-festival-week-3.html
- I’ll be posting The DIY Show Off Fall Festival on Mondays and try to start the party sometime on the prior Sunday evening.
- Although a tutorial is helpful, it’s not required. Anything autumn related and DIY is permitted.
- Please follow all steps above or your link won’t be posted. 🙁
- If you’ve been inspired by something you see here – show us what you did too!
- Enjoy and be inspired!
Links to Fall Festival Week #1 and #2 posted below as well if you missed them!

Have a blessed day!
Debbie

really like that skull on the cake plate and the bird! very cool, or I should say creepy! I don't think it's too early, happy halloween!
Great decorations – love the haunted table !
Kammy
It looks amazing!!! Love the cake platter!
Alyshia
Your tablescape is just beautiful!! Really striking.
Your fall tablescape is so beautiful! My favorite thing is the pitcher that the flowers are in. I love how it is so elegant but cozy and informal at the same time.
Thank you for hosting the Fall Festival! I LOVE it and I have looked forward to joining in all week!
Love your halloween decorations. I adore the circled banner that says Happy Halloween.
Your numbered table is cute too!
Roeshel, WOW, fabulous halloween and fall decor! Hugs, Sassy Marsha
Love the numbers on the bench! Love the fall decorations.
Hey there! Finally got my act together so that I could party with you guys!! Thanks so much for hosting this..loving all the posts:)
I should have known you would create the perfect little spot for you nevermore tree! It's awesome! Is that a wall decal (the Be Afraid part)? You always go above and beyond, I love your imagination!!
I could care less about football either. But sewing, that I wish I could do!!
Have a good Monday!
Thanks everyone for your kind comments and for stopping by!
Sarah – that wall decal is actually from Michaels! It's easily removable and the best part? Regular price is $1.99!
Have a great Monday everyone!
Roeshel
love all your Halloween decor. But what i couldn't take my eyes off is your double handled pitcher…i LOVE it! It looks beautiful as the centerpiece of your table-scape!
xo
What a cute desk. Reminds me of the ones in the school room of Little House on the Prairie. Very Cute. Do you plan to make them over?
Please stop by and say hi.
Be Well!
Thanks Alicia! Yes – I plan to make them over but not until we get to the family room makeover and it's back a few numbers on the to-do list. I was excited to find them. Great price, solid and perfect for creating a 'wall unit'. The family room is my daughter's 'hang out' so they're perfect.
Have a great night!
Roeshel
Very Fun! The Fall Decor is very cute. I like your vinyl lettering on the wall behind too. Just too bad it is on the actual wall and not a board that you can take down a reuse again. Anyways, I love your table setting! The candle hurricane lamps are stunning. I love visiting you blog and seeing you cute idea. Thanks for sharing.
I think the wall cling is reusable. I saved the backing. It's not like a regular vinyl wall art and it's different than the holiday clings for windows. So, I plan on trying to salvage and reuse it! But for $1.99, if it doesn't happen – it was still a great deal for 1 season. 🙂
Just wanted to tell you guys that your support and kind comments mean so much to me! THANK YOU! 🙂

Love your fall decor. Your tablescape is absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to see what you do with the desk…what a deal you got there
I can't believe you got those a desk and chair for $12.99! Our local thrift store is a rip off.
Can't wait to see what you do with them, so glad I found your blog, I LOVE it!
Hi Roeshel! I LOVE the "Be Afraid" ensemble! That is so cool for Halloween! Great job! I also love the tablescape. You are so talented. I am getting lots of great ideas! Have a great day.
Wow, really interesting stuff, thanks
Hi Roeshel, Love your tablescape and your whole room. It's just beautiful! Thanks for hosting this fun party!! I enjoy your blog and seeing everyone's fall contributions!
please help! I cant figure out how to grab the button and put it in a post on my blog! Im sure its easy but I am lost!! Im also embarresed! can you help! ugh I did a button before but how?
I absolutely LOVE your Halloween decor. It puts a HUGE smile on my face. Also, love. love. the 1234 bench. {darling}
Stephanie, right click on the button and save it to your computer. Then, in your post, upload it like you would a picture. You can then highlight it and add the link by clicking the paper clip and saving. Hope this helps. I'll work on creating an html code to just insert. Sorry! Don't be embarrassed! Sometimes it's hard to figure this stuff out!

Ooooh, spooky! Great post, as usual! Thanks again for hosting such a great party, I look forward to visiting & participating all fall!
That BE AFRAID sign is cute! 🙂 Also, beautiful table setting and centerpiece.
You decor is so inspiring! I must say I am in awe of that pillow as well, may have to try something similar for family with back troubles. I had to crack up about the football story, my Prince gets furious when I chose my superbowl team based on who has the color uniforms I like best, or the cutest QB! Have a great week!
Your Halloween vignette is great – looks nice an eerie! The bench is cute too! I love things with numbers and words on them!
Manuela
So talented. Sigh… 🙂 I love all of your projects. I'll have to come back later and check out everyone elses. Have a great night!

I realize this is almost 3 years later but here did you get the cage style cake plate?
Hi Jessica. I don’t remember! I think. think. TJ Maxx. But guess what?! I found it online for you! Here’s a link: http://www.homedecorators.com/P/Charlotte_Footed_Cake_Plate_with_Dome/220/
