Whimsical Wonderland (& giveaway alert!)

If there is one word that describes a “touch” that I love to add to my home, it’s whimsical. A new-to-me site has caught my eye and I can’t wait to share her with you. Her motto: “Everyone needs a little Whimsy in their lives” and I agree! Here are some inspiring projects from

A Post Full of Pretties!

Traci from Beneath My Heart has so many beautiful transformations and tutorials, that I can’t choose just one (click the links to see her transformation process). I’m pretty certain you will see why choosing just 1 to feature isn’t an option. All of her projects will inspire you (to head to the thrift shop or up to the attic or out to the curb or even your own home) to transform everything into something beautiful. Here are the before & after photos of her projects:

Seeing Decorating & DIY Potential in the Unexpected

Blogging has lead me to so many creative and inspiring blogs and amazing people. Nearly every day, I’m showing off some creative genius or amazing DIY-er. I like to be inspired. I love discovering new blogs that I can’t wait to read daily.

Room Remix is one of those places – full of beautiful inspiration and decorating tips.

Here is a creative DIY project posted from Room Remix that helps you develop an eye for seeing DIY and decorating potential from ordinary things:

This foyer wall needed some art, but it’s a large wall (9’x9′) and that usually means big $$$.

Thinking outside the box, we found this folding screen at Home Goods for $90. It’s made to sit on the floor obviously, but it’s the right size, has some character, and with a little paint could work in our space. Why not put it on the wall? (We had already taken it apart and sawn the legs off by the time we took this picture.)

We painted the 3 sections of the screen, put the wrought iron back in two of them, and purchased a painted iron piece for the middle for $30 at Kohls (we felt that putting the wrought iron in all 3 would be a little monotonous). Total cost of the project, including paint, was $130.

So next time you’re shopping, look at things with a creative eye. Is that REALLY all it can be used for, or can you make it work for something else.

Thank you, PK for your great ideas, interesting posts and for teaching me a thing or two along the way!

Guess what else? PK is hosting an awesome GIVEAWAY today!
You do NOT want to miss this one!
Make sure you head over to get signed up & tell her I said “hi”!
