My DIY Home Improvement Projects 2009 Recap

I just wanted to recap my DIY accomplishments this year and participate in

What a great party! Head over and check it out!!! Mr. DIY can’t believe we completed so many projects in 2009. Neither can I! We really enjoy seeing the transformation. Having a really bad “before” space helps “after” look amazing too. 😉

Single Stone Studios

Shelley from Single Stone Studios has so much inspiration in her blog. (She created my beautiful blog header and buttons. She featured a photo of my birdcage wall decals back in July 2008 too!) She’s a very talented artist, she’s creative and she’s a DIY’er too! Here are some of her amazing projects (Shelley, I don’t know where you find the time, but I need a dose of your energy!):

She’s working on these chairs but you can tell from the before and in-progress that they will be gorgeous when she’s done!

You can see her pretty studio HERE. Then visit her BLOG HERE and her SHOP HERE – the photos are so beautiful. These are just a few. I’d copy/paste her entire blog if I could…but I bet she’d rather you drop in for a peek. Aren’t these gorgeous?

I want this chair, wall and vinyl art in my office….

and this one is in my dream dressing room… This one in my craft room:

She also has a pretty exciting announcement. Pop over and tell her Congratulations!

And best of all – you have a chance to win a Single Stone Studios $35 gift certificate by entering the drawing daily!

The DIY Show Off
Still watching the votes. It’s so exciting! Thank you all so much for voting once a day every day! I’d LOVE to share the transformation with you if we win! Maybe even introduce you to Mr. DIY as he fixes the DIY drama. ?

Oh – and a tiny little show off for me! Our friend, PK from Room Remix, was browsing through BHG 100 decorating ideas for under $100 and saw my alphabet chair there! It’s not a cover story and just a little ‘honorable mention’ but I’m excited to see it! Shelley saw it too and sent me a picture…I’m just a little bit proud. 😉

Furniture Feature Friday

Miss Mustard Seed's Creative Blog

I‘ve been wanting to feature Miss Mustard Seed’s Creative Blog for quite a while now…she’s amazing and I love her Furniture Feature Fridays. (I’m suffering withdrawal too…I haven’t been a blog party in forever. Okay a week or so…but that’s too long!) It’s a wonderful DIY-related furniture party!

Furniture Feature Fridays
She has 35 before and afters posted! I snagged a few to show off. Okay…more than a few, but you won’t mind.

Look at this chair she got for free! Some girls have all the luck!

Well…not lucky at first glance. But then she made a slip cover. A project on my very own to-do list! (She claims she’ll do a tutorial so we’ll hold her to that! I’m going to need all of the help I can get!)

Here is the link and here is the after:

I love it. Don’t you?

She is the queen of painting furniture! It’s a Cinderella story for furniture. Magical.

Now: (drool)

What a beauty! I love the color, clever chalk board and beautiful scrolly design!

A foot stool is furniture too, right?

How about this $1 score. Before:

Beautiful after (and tutorial too):

Another table makeover! Before…
And amazing after:

She even wrote up a furniture stripping tutorial for you. What a girl. Talented and generous with giving you a hand.

I love this desk transformation too. Scary crackled before:
Beautiful chic after:
So, what do you think? Are you as insp
ired to play salon and makeover all of your furniture like I am?

Head over, check out the links and add your own furniture feature to the party! If that doesn’t convince you…she’s having an awesome giveaway too!
