DIY Project Parade – My Thrifty Finds

This week Bri and I visited a gem of an antique and junk treasures shop.  Cappy’s Corner in Ford City, PA is a sweet little shop in a town with a little population but packed full of tons of antique, vintage and retro goodies!  Bri shops there frequently (thanks, Bri…I think) and has gotten to know Cappy, the owner who finds the best junk and even hunted, found and saved brooches for our brooch wreath project.

If I didn’t have to be somewhere else that afternoon, I’d probably still be there treasure hunting. You can’t tell very well from the pictures, but it was so organized into tons of pretty little cramped-full vignettes. “I Spy” for a junker/thrifter ~ so much fun!  Can’t wait to do it again!

In exchange, I think we got her addicted to Pinterest. We’re nice like that! 😉  I spied some Pinterest-worthy creativity at Cappy’s Corner too. Love this mason jar chandelier!  Made by Cappy and her husband:
DIY hooks!  Awesome! Wouldn’t these be sweet in a mudroom?

In honor of our visit, there was a 25% off everything sale!  Whoop!  Okay.  That’s not true.  It was an “anniversary” celebration sale but since it was my first time there, I can pretend it was for me since it hugely benefited my wallet (well, sort of, you guys – there was so much stuff calling my name.  “Roooooeshelllll, look at me.  Buy me.” I swear!)
What did I come home with? Here’s a sneak peek.  I’ll share where these things are going very soon. I CAN’T WAIT, my DIY and thrifty friends!

And what’s so DIY about this post?  Well, I purchased two rusty antique pie tins. A little hot glue and convex mirrors found at yard sale just waiting for a project and now I have two of these:

I love their rustic look on the wall in my dining room.
Thanks to Cappy.  It was so nice to meet her since Bri couldn’t stop bragging about her finds. I have a feeling she’ll be seeing more of me.
