Kitchen Makeover at The Nest on the Hill

We started our kitchen makeover last fall. Last FALL! And we’re only 1/2 way there. So it’s a little obvious to you by now that I’m obsessed with kitchen transformations.  I can barely hit the link fast enough when I see a submission with the word “kitchen” in it.  So today’s post is brought  features…

Meet:  Shannon from The Nest on the Hill.  I’ve featured her beautiful home befores and afters in the past. Shannon and her husband just finished their kitchen remodel. After working through updating most of their home, they were left with a pretty small budget for the kitchen.

Here is her kitchen before:

They would have loved to have torn out the floors and cabinets and started from scratch but with a small budget, it wasn’t possible.  Instead, they replaced the countertops, added some new lighting and a kitchen island, painted and ventured into the world of subway tile.  After:

The budget?  $2000!  Wow!

I love the rich new butcher block countertops, the pretty punch of fun in the drum shade chandelier, the pretty ocean blue and the old original charm.  Beautiful job, Shannon.  You two have worked so hard to make your home “yours” and I love watching the progress.

DIY at Organizing Made Fun

Hi DIY friends!

Organizing Made Fun
Meet:  Becky from Organizing Made Fun!  She has an DIY transformation to share with you today.  Before picture shows the outdated look of her family room.  TONS of wood paneling …

Now it’s a peaceful beach cottage inspired hangout.
Here are a few favorite details but see “Family Room Peek” for more information on everything they did.
Capiz Shell Chandelier
They did an amazing job! It no longer even looks like a basement area, does it? Amazing how paint and lighting and the right accessories can change the entire atmosphere from dark outdated basement to bright, fun and inspiring! Great job, Becky! I love your new family room!
