I‘ll be opening the DIY Fall Festival here in a little bit but I wanted to open up a post for a little game of 20 6 questions. Is there anything you’d like to know about The DIY Show Off /me? I mean, of course I like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain but if you have a question – now is the time to ask I can’t promise I’ll have an answer but I’ll try. I’m always open to suggestions for making the site better too! I also love to hear about the real person behind the blog when I visit you but now that you’re visiting me – inquiring minds want to know:
- Introduce yourself in a comment.
- What was your last blog post was about if you have a blog or a word to describe your mood today.
- If you could choose any 1 thing right now as a gift to yourself from a catalog or store, what would it be? (Maybe Santa Claus reads the DIY Show Off!)
- Is there something you’d like to know about me?
- Do you have a suggestion to make the DIY Show Off better or a question about my blog?
- Random act of blogness – pop over to the blog of the commenter before or after you and leave a smiley emoticon in the comments. What was 1 photo/image you saw there?
- If you could have one week off paid to do a DIY project in your home (free supplies and products, what would you DIY? (Hey, doesn’t hurt to dream!)
If there are questions related to me, I’ll write up an answer post this weekend. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by! Stop back later for the DIY Fall Festival.
I'm game. I'll play.
1. I'm laxsupermom from Sugar & Spice in the land of Balls & Sticks. I'm a wife & mom of 2 rambunctious boys who loves crafting, decorating, and baking.
2. My last blog post was about all of the white chocolate treats I made for this weekend's Halloween party with a picture tutorial on my peanut butter eyeballs.
3. There's a sweater dress at Victoria's Secret that I've totally been eyeballing.
4. I'd love to know if you planned on this blog being as popular as it is, or if you just were using it to collect the ideas that you loved.
5. I've never been able to use the linky tool, so my question is what am I doing wrong?
6. There aren't any comments yet, but I promise to visit one.
7. This one's a tough one. I really want to redo my laundry room because it's a dreary little room, but my master bath desperately needs an overhaul. I suppose for pretend free materials, the bath wins out.
This was fun! I love following the links from your site.
I would love for you to join us for Craftify It Thursday! Your welcome to link up any of your crafts. I also have you on my blog roll! 😀

1. HEY y'all I am Bridgette, an alaskan gal who married a Texan who is in the military and we live in Europe. I have 3 rowdy siblings that we have guardianship that are giving us lots of pratice for our own. Plus being a lover of all things furry I have 3 pets. Phew. HUGE household. I am new to the DIY world and since we live overseas and return to the good ole USA in 2012(where we plan to buy a house) I stick to small crafts and furniture. Nothing that I have blogged about yet, but I plan on showing some of them in the near future. Um what else? I work with a youth program and go to school for education. I love to read, dance, photography, blog and cook. Oh and an awesome pair of heels and a good bubble bath can make my day. I write at two blogs, three if you count my photography one.

2. It was some random post about the need to do homework and not being able to focus. My mood is great today, it is sunny outside and today is my lil bros last football game. I am sad for him, but so thankful no more running around for it.
3. It would be full service maid for Nov and Dec. That is how I know I am all grown up and lead a domestic life. When a gift is having a hand around the house. Cleaning with kids is liking shoveling snow in a snowstorm.=)
4. Have you always done crafts? What was your intention for this blog when you first started it?
5. No suggestions I love how you post not just your projects but others and your link parties have led me to some good blogs. Oh a suggestion would be come to Europe and do some stuff in my rental.=)
6. It said there are no comments yet, so not sure how to do that. but I can come back and do that.
7. Since this is a rental, I will say just re-do my bedroom, with the furnishings, side tables, new bedding, curtains, art work…everything I can take with me when we move. But if we owned a house, I would def love a free makeover for a kitchen or a bathroom. Since those seem to be the costly ones.
1. Hello everyone. My name is Amy and I am a college professor by day and DIY'er / blogger / photographer at every other time! The hubs and our five dogs are in the midst of a grand renovation project that I document on our blog: http://www.amyhogan.com/blog/renovation. I am also in the process of launching my own photography business (exciting and nerve-wracking!). The business website will be launched within the next couple of days: http://www.amyhoganphotography.com
2. My last blog post was about my family visiting from the UK and making some cute glittery shoes for my Halloween costume this weekend.
3. I'd love for Santa Claus to bring me a new camera (Sony A55, or if he is feeling really flush, the Sony A900). C'mon Santa – I've been a good girl this year!
4 & 5. I'm new to your blog, so I dont have any questions/suggestions. I love following all the links!
6. Checking out Bridgette's photography blog as we speak (well, technically as I type…)
7. Paid week off work with free supplies? The question is, what WOULDN'T I tackle in our home. Let's see, we have 37 windows that need replacing, 4000 sq. feet of flooring needs installing, a new roof, new siding, three bathrooms to makeover, the kitchen… and a partridge in a pear tree.
Ooohh! I love to play. I'll play along, too.
1. I'm Suesan from http://FrouFruGal.blogspot.com. I'm a mother of four with half my children living on their own. The wife of 1 for almost 23 years. Teacher of 12 high school students for an early morning church class. I've remodeled 3 homes but nowadays I stick mostly to crafts, DIY, home decor and whatever else catches my fancy.
2. My last blog post was about my Copper Strap Pumpkin that I'm giving away to celebrate having more than 100 followers. Feel free to enter to win.
3. I'm dying for a camera. I don't care what kind as long as it's not the one on my cell phone.
4. I'm interested to know at which point you decided to monetize your blog and how you went about it. Also, how much time a day do you spend working on your blog?
5. I had a hard time finding past blog posts until I finally saw your tabs at the top. For blind people like me, the tabs could be a little bigger. 😀
6. Just dropped by Laxsupermom's site.
7. Since I am currently renting, this is a tough one. I guess I'd do a theatre room/family room/man cave space since my men are getting a little "girled" up by my projects. They need a dude space so I can play with the rest of the house!
Oooh I like this idea!
1. I'm Bette from http://frugalmomx3.blogspot.com. I'm a mom of 3 – girls ages almost 12, almost 10 and boy 4.
2. My last post (today) is How I Clean my Oven and linky party. Come Check it out!
3. A KING SIZED BED!!!!
4. I would ALSO love to know when you decided to monetized your blog and how you did it.
5. No questions… I love your blog BTW!!
6. I went over to http://froufrugal.blogspot.com/ and saw an amazing Copper Pipe Strapping pumpkin. Pretty Cool.
7. I would love to finally re-do my fireplace and install builtins on either side. I've priced it out, but it's still not do-able. Soon I hope.
This was cool, thanks for doing this!
Hi I'm Lorena and a busy mommy to 15 month old twins. They keep me busy, on a budget and happy! LoL
I do not have a blog but admire so many and hope to take the step and commitment to start one. Today I am "grateful" for all I have. My little family, our health and my stamps.
I'd like to know where you see the blog going and what your plans are. I love this blog and all the links.
not sure about 5 & 6
oh my goodness, a week off? hmmm I would love to make home decor items! I love paper garlands/ banners, and simply anything holiday related! So it would have to absolutely be decking the halls!
1.Hi my name is Stephanie and I'm the author of the blog 'Stephanie at Home'. Right now my husband and I are neck deep in renovating a 100 year old house and turning it into our first home.
2. My last blog post was about finally crossing off some big ticket items from our mile long checklist of things to do. http://stephanieathome.blogspot.com/2010/10/i-promise-its-getting-smaller.html
3. If I could choose any gift for myself it would have to be the farmhouse dining table and bench from Pottery Barn.
4.What's your favorite (or one of your favorites) DIY project that you've done?
5. I love the blog just the way it is 🙂
6. Stopped by Renovation Innovation and saw a fabulous pair of red glitter shoes.
7. Since Santa probably won’t be sticking that farmhouse table under my Christmas tree anytime soon I would love to try and DIY my own.
1. I'm Lee Ann living in Texas. I enjoy crafting, sewing, photography, camping, etc., & etc.
2. Last post was yesterday about a Banded Sphinx moth that was by our front door in August. Tuesday's post was a WIP (work-in-progress) quilt.
3. Anything fabric as I'm a fabricaholic. 🙂
4. Can't think of any questions for you at the moment!
5. NO suggestions.
6. I went to http://frugalmomx3.blogspot.com/ Frugal Mom X3 and saw before and after pictures of an oven using a cleaning product.
7. I am not sure what I would DIY as I do not have my own house yet. But, there are a few things I dream of doing such as buying a couple of cheap nightstands or small dressers and making them over for use in our bedroom. Building an entertainment center that would house all our gaming systems, games, and DVDs. I would build it in such a way that it would be a fun entertainment center for the kids whenever they visit. There are more stuff I dream of doing in my head; but, no home yet. *sigh*
OOO! Goody!
1. I am Leah from http://www.behindthestonewall.blogspot.com. Life with a new baby = all things crazy and weightloss related….
2. My last post was an honest opinion of a product I recently tried. I spout the good, bad, and ugly in my weekly opinions….
3. Honestly, I would probably take as many of the B&BW Wallflowers as I could fit in a bag at this moment. Just to cover the stench of dirty diapers!
4. How long did it take you to build your blog?
5. Nope. I love your blog just the way it is! However, I would probably like it with any improvements too. So, yeah, I am not help.
6. Sugar and Spice in the land of balls and sticks had some adorable halloween peanut butter eyeballs!
7. One week? My MASTER BATH! Oh my gosh! It's tiny as a closet and so 1987 it grosses me out!

2. My last post was about some awesome kabobs I made a few months ago. And today I'm "on the mend" (I've been sick but finally feeling better)
3. I'd love a DSLR!
4. I would love to also learn a little bit more about getting sponsors for your blog (I recently started a new site QuiltyGiveaways.blogspot.com) that I'm trying to grow
5. I think there's too much stuff in your side bars. I love your blog and content!
6. I stopped by Frugal mom, and I can't believe those oven before and afters!
7. I would finish out the upstairs into a giant office/sewing room on one half and a giant family/guest room on the other. It helps that my husband is a construction manager so I think if we both had 1 week off (and someone to watch the kids) we could accomplish 80% of this!
1. Hi I'm Trisha from The Sweet Survival. I am a mom of a one year old and I love home decor.
2. My last blog was about fall front proch decor and the mums we have on ours.
3. Stressed out from work!

5. LOVE your blog, can't think of what would be better.

1. I'm Sarah. I blog over at Comfort and Joy: http://comfortandjoyblog.blogspot.com. I'm gainfully employed as a children's librarian, but edging closer to a second career in all things lifestyle and design. 🙂 I love beautiful things.
2. My last post was for "What I Wore Wednesday". It was chilly! Boots and a blazer were a must.
3. Ugh. There are just too many things! The most unreasonable: I need enough chiang mai dragon to reupholster my sexy 40's sofa. So uh, Santa, charge that to your Amex and send a bolt on over, mmmkay? 😉
4. Are you going to take the DIY showoff "further?" any grand projects we should know about in the works? 🙂
5. Question about the blog: What do you think has made DIY showoff so successful in the blogging world?
6. Done and Done. I saw Target scoop chairs!
7. I'd take the time to finish the living room proper. Reupholstering, installing more shelves, painting some furniture, buying/thrifting stuff for great vignettes. I'd get a new ceiling fan… the list goes on and on for that room. 😉
1. Hello, hello! My name is Ashley and I live in Las Cruces, NM! My blog is called ShibbyNugz. Weird name, I know. Visit it here at http://shibbynugz.blogspot.com. I also recently started as a Kindergarten teacher at my old school district! (YAY!)
2. My last blog actually happened to be my first! It was about my just starting out in my classroom and introducing you to my journey.
3. My one gift would have to be an engagement ring from my boyfriend. A girl can hope can't she?? (patiently waiting, patiently waiting, patiently waiting…sigh)
4. I would love to know if you started out being not-so-good at this DIY stuff (like myself) or were you just born naturally uber talented??? If you started out bad then it gives me some hope haha!!!
5. I have a suggestion!!! I would love to see more apartment ideas. I am not happy with ours but we can't paint or do ANYTHING to it but hang little things (ugh) I need ideas!
6. The picture I saw was the first on on Sarah's page! It was the outfit she wore yesterday (which was SUPER cute by the way!)

Hi Roeschel,
What a great post, here's a bit about me:
1. I'm Jessica and blog about my Decor Adventures at http://www.decoradventures.com/
Married only a month, I live in Western New York with my hubs in our first home. Our nest is 110 years old and we love it!
I work full time so blogging and decor is a hobby – which I'm always up late at night doing cause of that day job 🙂
2. Yesterday I wrote about other bloggers who've refinished the exact same piece of furniture I have. We've all found it thrifting.
3. The one thing I'd love from a catalogue is stocking holders for the mantle. We never had a mantle before and those would be a sweet little holiday decoration I'd love to have.
4. I love hearing about a typical day in the life of bloggers, it would great to read about your "typical" day.
5. My question is about creating a successful blog. Any tips you want to share on what you've done with yours?
6. I just visited Jenny at Our Nifty Notebook. She has really amazing photos over there, I'll have to ask about her technique!
7. My paid DIY project would be to put up curtains! We've only been here a few months and have the previous owner's old blinds, not to mention we don't have any rugs either. It's the simple things that would make me happy 🙂
Thanks for allowing us to share, this was great!
