Fall Festival – Week #3

It’s that time of the week again! I can’t wait to get a dose of autumn inspiration! Here are my fall-related projects this past week.
I know it’s a little early, but I couldn’t help making a little Halloween vignette with my nevermore tree. I don’t usually decorate for Halloween, but this 1 spot is just the right amount for me (other than the barn patio – for a Halloween party!).

Fall also means the start of the football season! Want to know a secret about me? I’m not a football fan (except by geographical birth since I was born & raised in Steeler Country and by marriage since my husband is a die-hard fan). I don’t understand the plays and only watch the Super Bowl for the commercials. I do get caught up in the excitement though. (Not only did I hear the shouting from the living room this afternoon, I also got a rundown on how many missed opportunities there were in today’s game. lol) My sister is a fan and she has had some back surgeries. So, I made her a travel lumbar pillow and tote bag this week. No tutorial. I just measured, cut, ironed and sewed without a pattern. I’m linking to

Here you can get an idea of the size. (Pardon my lack of “evening gown” for modeling..lol.)

And finally, My fall tablescape: (you may have seen these for Met Monday too!)

This isn’t fall related but I love Met Monday! Head over to see the transformations and you’ll be hooked too!

I added numbers to a bench from our barn patio. I love how it turned out.

Edited to add (because you know I can’t pass up a good blog party and I found these this weekend). I got these at a thrift shop for our family room (another DIYproject on the looooong list). $12.99 = 1 desk + 1 chair!
Hurray – great deal so I bought them both!

What is the Fall Festival?
  • A blog party on Mondays during the autumn season
  • Autumn/Fall inspired DIY projects

How can I join?

  • Create a blog post about an Autumn/Fall project that you’ve done
  • Add your blog name and project to Mcklinky (example: The DIY Show off – House # Pumpkins)
  • Type in the permalink address, not your basic blog address. A permalink is the address that links directly to your specific post. (example: http://thediyshowoff.blogspot.com/2009/08/house-number-pumpkins)
  • You must use The DIY Show Off Fall Festival button and link back to The DIY Show Off Fall Festival post so that everyone gets to join in the fun. Here is the button:
  • This week’s link to cut/paste is: http://thediyshowoff.blogspot.com/2009/09/fall-festival-week-3.html
  • I’ll be posting The DIY Show Off Fall Festival on Mondays and try to start the party sometime on the prior Sunday evening.
  • Although a tutorial is helpful, it’s not required. Anything autumn related and DIY is permitted.
  • Please follow all steps above or your link won’t be posted. 🙁
  • If you’ve been inspired by something you see here – show us what you did too!
  • Enjoy and be inspired!
