Anna Maria Island, Florida – a fun and relaxing getaway! Enter to win a dream vacation!

I recently met up with a small group of blog friends for a relaxing retreat on Anna Maria Island.

The best part of any vacation for me (aside from fun times with friends) is the lodging. And this Anna Maria Island home rental named Sirenia Cove did not disappoint.

Let’s take a tour! Beautiful decor, four bedrooms (sleeps 12), three bathrooms…

Fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living spaces…

Plenty of quiet spaces…

but lots of room for entertaining too AND right on the water (great location for boaters).

Because I deal with anxiety and panic attacks, I was the fuddy-duddy who stayed behind house watching during some of the adventures; content to relax in this beautiful home and most days you could find me lounging and reading by the pool. No complaints from me. My kind of get-away. Few plans, low key, stress-free! Beautiful, comfortable surroundings.

It felt like a big birthday celebration with all of the gifts! We each brought some cute things to swap and Anna Maria Island businesses welcomed us with a surprise swag bag full of goodies!

Plenty to do for my sight-seeing adventure seeking friends as well!

Beautiful sandy beach, pier, shopping and restaurants within walking distance, kayaking and other fun excursions close by.

Helloooo, DIY friends! We’ve just returned from vacation and I’m freezing! Going from sunny days in the 80s at beautiful Fort Myers Beach, Florida, arriving home to PA and 48 degrees with rain. Brrrr! Time to bundle up and prep for Frankenstorm by clearing the patio and winterizing home. It’s a good thing I’m all rested {if I wasn’t feeling so lazy…how is it that I feel the need to ‘recover’ from a relaxing vacation?!}.

Since we only arrived home yesterday, we have no DIY personally to share this week and I hope to get caught up in the next few days. In the meantime, here are some of my favorite pics from vacation. We spent a week in a private beach cottage on Fort Myers Beach, FL. IT.WAS.HEAVEN!

Sunsets were stunning…

We ate the best seafood, rented bicycles for the week, collected seashells, soaked up the sun (plenty of sunblock), visited the pier/boardwalk but mostly, we relaxed. The beach cottage was beautiful outside. Nice enough inside. Clean, modern, comfortable and with everything one needs to feel at home. {Just one of those places where I walked around dreaming of how I would decorate and re-arrange…do you do that too? There were a few pieces I loved but mostly, it was decorated with a “Florida beach”/rental vibe…know what I mean?}

Vacation cons: SO many mosquitoes and sand fleas. Crappy wi-fi connection.

BUT, this more than made up for where the cottage fell short: the ‘back yard’ which sits right on the gulf, was breathtaking. The owner put a lot of thought, a lot of time {a lot of maintenance} and a lot of money into making this gorgeous garden oasis with paths and secret gardens, beautiful flower covered pergolas, lounge chairs in several different locations, several different private areas for patio furniture, landscaping, even key lime trees and orchids, umbrellas, a swing, hammock, the prettiest solar lighting I’ve ever seen and lots of privacy. This is only a small peek…
