Top DIY Posts of 2018

Looking back at top DIY posts of 2018. I’m sometimes a little surprised at most visited posts – they’re blasts from the past! I’ll share a 2018 recap later this week but let’s take a look at DIYShowOff reader favorites from the past year:

Lighted PVC Candy Cane Decor made the top of the list of faves. Wouldn’t several lining a walkway look so festive and inviting?

Looks like a tire swing but upcycle an old tire into a planter: DIY Tire Planter. This always gets compliments at our home. Who knew an old tire turned planter would be a great conversation starter?

Pallet Herb Garden – time to give some thought to this year’s herb list. I love that we still utilize this on our patio which is located right off the kitchen. Mint for mojitos, rosemary for roasted cashews.

This one reminds, me. I really need to organize and refresh these shelves in real life. Adding it to the to-do list! This former under-utilized space in our home (there are 6 door ways in this small space!) now functions as an open pantry and we love it!

Ah. Another oldie but goodie and favorite project. Next time you’re at the thrift store, check out the electronics/lighting department (i.e. maybe 1 shelf of things with wiring). lol

DIY baseboards – I’m guessing inquiring minds want to know. haha! I’ll actually be recreating this post in real life with some baseboard trim at the #helloredreno studio.

Favorite Things 2013

Hello! Melissa from 320 Sycamore is hosting her 5th annual Favorite Things party with a blog hop spin this year. It’s so fun! Visiting from Home Stories A to Z and Beth’s list favorite things? {I have to try those macaroons!) Welcome, friends!favorite things blog hop and party

Of course it goes without saying my most favorite things are always family, friendships, good health, well being, peace, love, blogging, DIY, etc. but this party is all about sharing thing-things and here’s my list (some affiliate links included below):

Did you know I drink tea from the moment I get up, all day long, until I go to bed at night? Yup. I start with a hot cup each time. No sugar. No cream. No honey. Just plain and boring. And if it goes cold, I’m still drinking it. Tea Time Favorite

  1. While I love all tea flavors, I mostly stick with an organic green tea on a daily basis: Bigelow Organic Green Tea Bags, 40 ct.
  2. You’ll find me carrying one of these every day around the house or on the go: Tervis Tumblers. I just recently added the three shown above to my collection. Fancy. Festive. Funny.
  3. I’m loving this recent purchase: Better Chef IM-150S Electric Kettle, Silver. Now I’m not microwaving my water 10x a day.

Earlier this year we rescued our Italian Greyhound, Rosie. Of course she’s one of my favorite things from 2013. She’s super sweet! So are these chevron leashes and collars from Learned StichworksAwesome prices, beautiful quality and trendy.Learned Stichworks collars and accessories

Seeing how I wear boots from October-April, this specific pair has been on my favorite list for three years along with these favorite accessories in 2013 usually paired with my favorite diamond stud earrings. DIYShowOff Favorite Accessories

  1. Big Buddha Mia Bag – purchased in a Ft. Myers’ boutique while on vacation. I’ve sort of worn it out and will be on the hunt for something new.
  2. Wishbone Pendant Necklace from Molly Suzanne – this was a sweet swag bag gift from a fun local blogger event and it’s one of my absolute favorite things this year! Isn’t it cute?
  3. Leather Cuff (The one I purchased through Stash Style from the Country Living Fair is currently unavailable but this one is sort of similar in looks.)
  4. Breckelles Women’s Outlaw-81 Knee High Boot – not exactly new (3 years old) but still in great shape and still a favorite.
  5. Nicole by O.P.I Selena Gomez, Kissed at Midnight, 0.5 Fluid Ounce
Perfect touch of bling! This glitter nail polish doesn’t look so bad with chipped nails from DIY work and touch up is quick and easy.

I don’t wear make up every day, but I do anytime I leave the house. I’d prefer not to scare the general public. haha! Here are some of my beauty favorites: DIYShowOff Beauty Favorites

  1. e.l.f. Studio Mineral Infused Face Primer – fills in fine lines and wrinkles and makes my skin feel super soft.
  2. At the recommendation of some of my blog friends, I purchased Maskcara’s HAC Pack and it’s now a must have!
  3. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue for Women – light citrusy scent perfect for everyday.
  4. I’ll try several different brands and shades of lipstick but I always seem to grab this favorite nearly every time: L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick Nude.
  5. Maybelline New York Volume’ Express The Rocket Washable Mascara – I prefer a washable mascara and this doesn’t flake or smudge but darkens and lengthens lashes beautifully.
  6. Love the Aromatherapy line at Bath & Body Works. My favorite hand soap/lotion are Sleep {lavender vanilla} and Stress Relief {eucalyptus spearmint}.

One of my absolute least favorite things is blog trouble. If you’re a blogger and have experienced moments of technical panic and anxiety, you’re shaking your head in agreement. So I have to include my most favorite web developer in the whole wide world who has helped save the {blogging} day countless times. If you’re looking for quality, personal website services, free quotes and awesome tutorials, you’re going to want to hook up with Max:

Last but not least, YOU! Yes, you, my dear readers and friends are definitely one of my favorite things and a huge part of daily life in 2013. Thank you for your kindness and support, thank you for being here! xo

YOU make me happy printable
