Christmas Tree Link Party & Contest

O’Christmas tree, O’Christmas tree….I’ve just finished decorating 3 or 4. If you celebrate Christmas, more than likely you decorate an evergreen tree (real or artificial) with ornaments, lights, garland, odds and ends, handmade or store-bought. It’s a Christmas tradition in our home. Throughout the day, the Christmas tree stops me in my tracks. It’s a moment when I’m reminded to Rejoice! I’m celebrating the birth of my savior.

When the days are short and evening arrives early, there’s just something happy about twinkly lights on a Christmas tree that lifts my spirits and warms my heart this time of year.

Christmas Tree Contest

I love so many different styles and our home reflects my indecision…I mean: appreciation for a variety of decorating styles. Here is a look at the trees in the DIY Show Off home:

Traditional with red and gold in the living room:

Best Home Blog {DIY category}

How fun would it be for us to go shopping together?!

Good morning, DIY friends! I know I said I’d be scarce this week, and I will be. But Have I told you lately how happy your support, encouragement and friendship means to me? When I started blogging six years ago, I had no idea that I’d make so many awesome friends, friends who share my passion for all things DIY and home. Your visits and comments and us sharing DIY and decorating is a HUGE party of my every day life. Thank you!

DIY Show Off

Lamps Plus is recognizing and rewarding the best Home blogs and I’ve been nominated! (hurray!) for the Lamps Plus 2013 Best Home Blog Awards in the DIY category.

Starting Monday, October 14 through November 15, you can vote at Lamps Plus Facebook page. There are four different categories for your favorite home blog. Individuals will be able vote for their favorite blogs once every 24 hours.

That’s where I can use your help!

The highest vote-getter in each of the four categories will receive a $1,000 shopping spree from Lamps Plus. In addition, one lucky voter will receive a $500 shopping spree too.  So YOU can join in on the voting.

Complete list of the nominees for the Best Home Blog Contest in the four categories can be seen here:

I’m in good company so even if I don’t end up with the highest popular vote, you can bet I’ll be cheering for the 24 DIY blog friends also nominated.

If you’d be so kind to pop over to the Lamps Plus Facebook page and vote for DIY Show Off once a day (click the button below) for the next month along with your friends, as always, I’d be forever grateful. Thank you!
